Our wild raspberries are just starting to ripen. We have some volunteers coming up in our yard and I can't wait.

Theres a spot near the railroad embankment that always ripens a week early.  I think I'm the only person who knows about it.

Wish we had some black caps out here. Summers in WI my brother and I would be stained purple. Not gonna argue with the reds though. Nice and tart.

The wild blackberries are one of the things i miss from being in the sf bay area, theyre everywhere. Made some great beer with them, pie, cobbler, bread, never did do ice cream but i know it woulda been amazing...

Marionberry pie is delicious, it's a must-have at Thanksgiving for me. A warm slice with some vanilla ice cream is heaven.

Ollalieberries as mentioned in the article are one of the parents of marionberries, but in an interesting twist they are more grown in central coast California than anywhere else.

I have some in the freezer right now. A few times a year, one of our local markets will put Tillamook on sale for $3. I stock up - the store it in the downstairs freezer so that we'll stay away from it.
