Those Russian subsidies were propping up the whole house of cards.

NRA- Join us.

That is their slogan apparently.  Perhaps those 200 staffers are responsible for that abortion of a slogan.  Its awfulness works on two levels.  Try to come up with two other words that better illustrates you are recruiting cult members than "join us".  It's also extraordinarily lazy.

Cover your face, you will do if you love me,
I'll cover my face because I love you too.
If we all do, we can normalise,
Go drinking and eat some pies -
No virus one day.
Cover you face, you entire human race you,
I'll cover my face, it's no big deal unduly,
Life will be fine, no more Covid-one-nine
If we cover our faces in all sorts of places today
It will go away.

I wonder how that impacts the funding for this site.

don't know why they would support trump, they do much better when a democrat wins so they can scare their rubes into thinking their guns are going to be taken away

Womp womp

I skimmed the article, didn't see: how many employees do they have? Is 200 a good percentage of them?

But who is gonna defend the 2nd Amendment from Antifa, the deep state, and Justice John Roberts without them?

Dead for Tax Reasons: don't know why they would support trump, they do much better when a democrat wins so they can scare their rubes into thinking their guns are going to be taken away

This probably fits under "why does Coca-Cola need to advertise?" thinking, but I doubt their efforts will be required at this point. Facebook will make sure of that.

They don't want 45* to win. They want Biden to win. But they can't say that. The rubes have to *think* the nra wants 45* to win. It's all very complicated. Just donate some Rubles to them and everyone will be happy, da?

It's going to hinder their ability to help Trump and other Republicans win?

HAHAHA!  Good!
HAHA!!!

Nah, the NRA, functionally, is pretty much on its deathbed. Other gun organizations have taken over the gun safety, training, advocacy, etc. duties from it, and they're a withered husk.

They went from a gun rights organization with a right wing bent to a right wing political advocacy front with a narrow emphasis on guns over the past 25 years - and even that narrow emphasis is iffy. If they couldn't thrive in a time of a worldwide pandemic, racial unrest, a severe recession, and potentially a bunch of Republicans being kicked out of office come November, they aren't getting back up.

They blew their wad when Obama got elected in 2008 and pretty much used him as the sole gun salesman. OTOH, it's not like Trump hasn't been a bad salesman himself amongst liberals.

The stay at home orders are responsible for declines in NRA revenues?  Yeah, right.
Somehow gun sales increased dramatically during that same period.

Maybe it has something to do with LaPierre building a multi-million dollar mansion on members funds.

Good. They've proven ties to Russian accelerationist infiltrators and have poisoned the minds of Americans. I hope those human farking garbage rot and their kids starve.

They also got grifted by their PR/consulting firm and by their bloated board of directors to the tune of tens of millions of dollars.

I'm sending Thoughts & Prayers to the NRA

It's been in a death cycle for a couple years worth of in fighting and grifting.

So basically a microcosm of the GOP

It couldn't have happened to a bigger bunch of cocknozzles.

Correcting part of the article:

The situation is likely to hinder efforts by the gun rights group to help Trump and other Republicans win in November's election keep grifting so its management can live in luxury on its members' donations.

I do hope NRATV is alright.  I watch it when they run out of good programming on ESPN-8.

That bounty paid to the Taliban was too much to keep the NRA too.

How the fark can they be doing poorly when rednecks are making guns and bullets disappear from the shelves?

2020-06-29 9:20:14 PM
Like other corporations, the NRA is saving money by offshoring the jobs -- in this case to St. Petersburg.

2020-06-29 9:26:05 PM
Oh no.

2020-06-29 9:40:09 PM
Reminder: The NRA takes money from Russia and uses it in American politics.

2020-06-29 9:40:10 PM
This might sound good, but the way things are going they'll be replaced by a nutjob organization that seeks to make it mandatory that people carry guns.

That was pretty nice, actually.
I read that in the Pythons singing "sit on my face and tell me that you love me " voices

And oil prices are so low right now, that revenue stream has pretty much dried up.

I funny'd but that's probably a fair part of their funding problem.

If Covid destroys Putin, it won't be worth it or anywhere close but it will be at least some recompense...
