In four years time, Obama will say, "You really want to repeal the 22nd Amendment? Please proceed."

For Obama, I imagine this is like a home owner building his dream house and watching hopelessly as a tornado destroys all the years of hard work.

I dunno.  Right near the top of TFA, it was pretty clear that Obama didn't want anything more to do with the presidency.  You'd probably have to draft him into office.

In my dreams, Michelle Obama changes her mind about not wanting to be VP. If the election was held today, Biden would win, and Michelle could see herself being elected President in 2024.

It doesn't even have to be Obama concerned about his "legacy."  He and his family live in this country too.  Nobody is fine with Trump burning the country to the ground.

You have not been paying attention to the Republican plan for the last 20 years...that is exactly what they want

neighbor builds a gaudy spite monstrosity that violates countless building codes and zoning by-laws that go unenforced by the cronies on the town's boards and ends up blocking his incredible view.

He didn't seem to mind when his SC pick was left in the wind, or the first three years of Trump's term. In fact, he's worked harder to fight Medicare for All than he has anything Trump's done.

I'll certainly never vote for hi ...

Obama is what we used to call "politically savvy" and "intelligent." He doesn't hog the spotlight. Scarcity ups his value. When he starts making speeches (starting with the one at the convention) and then cutting ads, they will work. He just has to sit in a chair and he will instantly remind everyone of a time when the president was a dignified adult. He'll say " I want you to vote for my friend Joe Biden, " and say a few sentences, and it will work.

Christ, these ads are getting vicious. Clicked it out of morbid curiosity and it was absolutely boring. Just a few Wikipedia sentences flanked by a dozen ads, then click "continue reading" for a couple more sentences and a new round of ads, repeat. I got about 5 clicks deep before giving up.

HEY! Stable-hand!, The new guy is Farking all the pigs, and chickens, and shooting horses as they run out of the burning barn!!
Got anything to say about that after you stacked all that hay, nailed all the loose boards, and calmed down all the animals?

Honestly, that's disappointing.  Yes, I understand the ramifications towards innocent people and health workers, but god damn it, I want these monsters to die.

Yes, he didn't make a big enough deal about Garland who was a COMPROMISE centrist nominee in the first place.  Nominating Garland instead of a solid liberal WAS bipartisan.

No, he didn't work to fight Medicare for All.  He did give over too much to the ideas of both avoiding the mistakes of Clintoncare strategically (i.e. not writing the legislation as a starting point but throwing it to congress) and the idea of bipartisanship in an era when the GOP wants most of the country to DIAF.  As such he got played and wasted valuable time losing his majorities.

But I also think we need to view the Obama presidency not just in the political context of the time but also the racial context, even though we for the most part slapped ourselves on our collective backs congratulating ourselves for reaching a post-racial milestone in this country with a black president.  If the overt racism he faced didn't make it clear, the angry primal scream of racism in reaction that is Donald Trump should highlight the point.

That is: Barack Obama as the nation's first black president and as a really smart guy in his own right was acutely aware of his place in history and the burden of same.  As disappointing as his presidency may have been in several areas for flaming liberals like myself, and this includes on the issue of health care, the remarkable pressure he was under and put himself under in retrospect is almost too difficult to come to terms with.

There was no way he was going to let his legacy be one of failure, even if it mean incrementalism, or of division and corruption.  Those are the principles he governed to.  Successfully, I might add.

That calculation has changed with the abject failure of a man that succeeded him.

That he'd rather be known as the president who made Dubya's wars and tax cuts permanent and who nationalized RomneyCare rather than be a "failure" says so much about both Obama and the Democratic Party establishment in general.

It won't be the 22nd Amendment at that point, we'll be starting fresh with a new Constitution.

NOT a tornado.
Watching a dream house being dismantled by a meth-head.
Who has no clue that taking out the wiring and the pipes will make it uninhabitable
