The show marked the start of Rice's tour at venues which have been chosen for their social distancing capabilities, with further dates set to follow in states such as Kentucky, Georgia and Virginia.

My Governor here in Virginia needs to shut this down immediate. We don't need a spike here.

The stupid excuse they are using "Well the venue has a capacity of 10,000, but only 1000 people showed up so we done good" holds no merit if those 1000 people all crowd to the front of the stage. They are basically relying on the honor system and telling people to social distance themselves. You cannot rely on the honor system...for anything.

Even better analogy, making white rice takes out the essential vitamins and makes you sick if all you eat is white rice.

Huh.  That's pretty racist, don't you think?  If someone compared a rap concert to a sea of brown rice, wouldn't you think so?

But a concert is totally the same thing as protesting for your right not to be shot by police officers, according to some little-brains in this very thread.

Those people don't understand that the right to assemble for a concert during a public health crisis is fundamentally different from the right to petition the government for redress during a public health crisis and that you can actually distinguish between good assembly and bad assembly because of the public health crisis because the law and case history allows for it.

Yeah, I gotta say, if I was Black, the police wouldn't be the people I was worried about shooting me.

I really hope contact tracing is up to the task of attributing an actual count of sick or dead to these events.  So that a few weeks from now we can say what the actual impact of Trump's stupid Tulsa rally, or this guys stupid concert was.

Point of order: Bro "country" is one letter too many, and is just Southern pop.

His bass player is a buddy of mine, and I've played on a bill or two with Chase & his band. The people who were there for that show are not the kind of people you're going to convince to wear a mask, or to distance themselves from their neighbor to prevent viral spread, or to stay home. It's just not gonna happen. That said, Chase puts on a decent show, so they probably had a pretty good time while infecting one another several times over.

Came here for this online, leaving happily.

This is the venue, passing liability onto the consumer. "Hey, we told them to stay 6 feet apart, and only admitted 10% of our capacity. You can't blame us if a thousand customers ignored our explicit instructions, and we can't be expected to enforce them."

This is the same excuse my Safeway gave months ago, when they were told to ensure that social distancing and hygiene guidelines published by the state had to be put into place. They dutifully put up stickers, put down lane arrows, wiped down carts, and didn't say a goddamned word to people without masks, in crowds, wandering the wrong way down one-way aisles and standing next to each other while waiting for self-checkout kiosks.

Fark that shiat.

So where are the charges for murder?

There should be new crimes in the criminal code for knowingly spreading a deadly disease with minimum mandatory sentences/fines.

Chase Rice? What are his favourite hobbies? Running after wheat? Shambling towards sorghum? Ambling near oats?

Never heard of this idiot and not likely to ever want to hear his "music" anyway.
