This sucks because the tech behind Beam Mixer is honestly really good.  There's a lot less delay when streaming.

A lot of streamers moved to Mixer because Twitch, like Youtube, is piss-farking-poor at customer service.  Copyright takedowns, inconsistent applications of rules, customer service that makes Niantic look good.

Subby sounds old. Better hurry or you'll miss your Perry Mason on MeTV.

You don't have to be a streamer to recognize a broken system.

So because you don't agree with the law it's okay to ignore it? You probably think it's okay for you to walk into a museum and steal a poster of your favorite painting.

Or maybe you could spend 30 seconds on the internet and realize the algorithm these sites are using are producing way too many false positives, including takedown notices on behalf of the people who created the content that's being flagged.

Or you could just be a douche and hammer out some crap defending poor practices.

So the choices are now to put all your personal profile info into the open with you streamer profile, or possible moderation by someone who identifies as a deer.

And to cut the willful ignorance off at the knees:

Valve owns and publishes the game DotA2.
Valve's own DotA2 Twitch stream was flagged for a copyright violation for using DotA2's in-game audio.

There is no defensible argument for that level of overzealous copyright protection.

I'll do you one better..

Footage of the launch of DM-2 from NASA's youtube channel was the victim of a takedown by NatGeo.. because NatGeo at some point had broadcasted NASA's footage.. nevermind that NASA footage, by charter, is public domain to begin with.

Having music playing in the background while you do anything is NOT copyright infringement no matter how badly the music lobby has fooled our legal system.

I will die on this farking hill. I farking hate it.

Yeah, people are really rewinding a VOD to relisten to your precious content with a streamer pulling faces and screaming to entertain middle schoolers.

Maybe because there are so few users it's running at one-percent capacity?

One of the reasons Microsoft themselves stated for discontinuing the service was concerns that it wouldn't be able to scale.

Management at every content aggregator/streamer ever: "Hey, IT geeks, we need copyright infringement prevention software"

IT Geeks: "You can have any two - cheap, accurate or non-intrusive"

Management: "Cheap"

IT: "Ok, and which other?"

Management: "Just cheap"

IT: "But you could also have one of the others"

Management: "Doesn't matter.  Cheap."

IT: "Say no more"

The streamers moved because Microsoft went talent poaching and gave contracts to high profile twitch streamers to switch.
