If he played for the Royals instead he'd have the best career batting average in franchise history.

/Now I'm sad.
//So sorry.

Joe Delaney was a good guy.  I'm glad they remember him and are putting up the memorial.

Now, let's work harder to teach swimming.  Not joking.   Black kids have a lot harder time learning to swim; curiously, there are not a lot of country clubs and nice swimming pools in mostly Black areas.

Had season tickets to the Chiefs in the early 80's. 40-50k people a game...horrible teams..but still enjoyed going. Joe Delaney was on of the very few bright spots of that decade, even though he was only there 2 years before his untimely death. Class guy...KC was mourning for a long time.

As a lifelong Bronco fan I do remember Joe Delaney. Damn good player. Glad to hear he's being honored.

Yes, but you don't fault the attempt based on the outcome.  "Smokin'" Joe Delaney's death was one of those stories that, at the time, got far too little national publicity.  The guy and his memory deserve every accolade afforded him, and any that come now are if anything long overdue.
