Yeah, this is sad. This guy was a living symbol of the high-water mark for the team. The Hogs were such a big part of the team from 87 - 91 and Bugel was the one making it happen. RIP coach.

He also built the O-line that blocked for Earl Campbell in Houston.  Damn good offensive specialist, but not a great head coach.

Edit that to 82-91, although 87-91 the Hogs were just juggernauts

He, Scarnecchia, and I Can't Remember Who The 80s 90s 49ers O Line Coach Was... all masters of their craft.

He probably died of embarrassment from those PC libz that want to change the teams name and took down the statue of the honorable George P. Marshall! Sick of all this liberal crap going on in our finest American sport! Just sick!

UNC_Samurai: Damn good offensive specialist, but not a great head coach.

How many flat-out great coordinators would be remembered as legends at their jobs if only they didn't have their HC time?

Norv Turner, Wade Phillips, Buddy Ryan, Rex Ryan, Mike Tice... You get the idea.

And now we're led by the crappy Gruden.

I don't think he was cut out to be an HC, but to be fair he didn't fare any worse than most coaches of the Cardinals.

So every team that he used to work for no longer exists under the name it had when he worked there, save one.

There are no "Houston Oilers" any longer.  Bugel also coached for the Phoenix Cardinals, the Oakland Raiders, and the San Diego Chargers.

Just wait; pretty soon someone is going to want to change the name of the Washington Redskins, and it will clearly be Joe Bugel's fault.
