I thought everything was delayed because the little issue of theaters not being open.

Mugato: I thought everything was delayed because the little issue of theaters not being open.

I've said it before though.  This is the type of movie I would never pay to see in the theater.  I would wait for RedBox or, chances are, cable!

If it was released VOD though, I'd pay $20 to see it at home.

Spoiler alert: American theaters won't be open on August 28 either.

The New Mutants currently shares August 28 with Bill & Ted...

Lies! The New Mutants movie isn't real, it's an urban legend passed around by gullible MCU fans.

Seriously kids, if you look in a mirror at midnight and say "New Mutants" five times, Stan Lee won't actually materialize and photobomb your next selfie. Grow up.

I'm looking forward to this more than most of these decades later sequels- I'm a big fan of both of the films and I loved the cartoon as a kid. And I actually found a hardcover collection of Bill and Ted's Excellent Comic Book from the early 90's cheap recently. I bought like three issues of that when I was 7 or 8 and I'm really enjoying reading it again.

Carlin's ashes better be involved somehow.

Bill Sadler's finest role.

If not that, I'd suggest a Frisbee should be heavily involved in the plot... but then again, that might be too obtuse a reference.

Meh, this movie is like 20 years too late.

Trik: Meh, this movie is like 20 years too late.

I hate to say it but I don't know who the audience is for this. I mean they were goofy little films that we saw when we were kids about high school kids doing goofy shiat and just wanted to be excellent to each other over a soundtrack from bands no one's ever heard from (the sequel had Megadeth and a few other bands people heard from).

Now it's going to be about a couple heavy metal (which doesn't exist anymore) guys led by that guy who kills the fark out of everyone in all his movies, sometimes in slow motion and in 360 degrees. And no George Carlin. Unless CGI is involved. Which he probably wouldn't have a problem with but still.

Not seeing it in the theater, but watching it whenever it's available for streaming. I watched the original last weekend. Still found it entertaining even after all these years.

I'll see it in the theater when it comes out. The soundtrack with the aforementioned bands no one's heard of was one of the first tapes (look up the technology "tape") I ever bought. I just don't know how many others like me there are.

I remember cassette tapes.  I was 10 years old when Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures came out. I won a boombox in a school raffle. My dad actually still has that dinosaur somewhere in his house.
I had every Beach Boys album on tape. God, I was such a nerd.

It's for us older people who want to see a goofy film about older guys doing goofy shiat and being excellent to each other.

This is the perfect franchise for the decades later sequel. It's going to be silly, stupid and a great way to spend an hour and a half.

And heavy metal doesn't exist anymore? The fark are you talking about?

That was my first album! Followed closely by Weird Al's Dare to be Stupid.

/Probably why I prefer film scores and parodies to listen to over everything else.

I'm sure me listing out bands that are popular and putting out solid metal albums, while you dismiss each one would be a great use of both of our times.

Virtual high five fellow lurker! I read far more than I post because so many times if you don't get in the convo within the first hour or two the enthusiasm has all gone away and people have moved on. But the thread still exists.

Thank you to all that post so that I can read the funnies on my iPad in bed before crashing out for the night.

I get it! Usually, by the time I read a thread, somebody else has already said whatever it was I wanted to say, and way better than I could have expressed it. It's the beauty of Fark :)
