Romney will be okay with it, as long as they are in Utah.

Of the 100 NWSL fans, how many were staunch Republicans before?

Do they play the anthem just so players can kneel (or not)?  Any other reason to play it?

It's women's sports.  Republicans already hated it.

partly off topic:

there was exhibition tennis in Britain last week. before the matches, the players and chair ump took a knee for several seconds in support of BLM. some US fans felt the need to announce to social media that they weren't watching anymore.

because BRITISH players were kneeling, and not during an anthem, which wouldn't have been TSSB anyway. almost as if the "it's disrespectful to the flag and the anthem" is BS.

Yeah, I've wondered about this since before it was even an issue. They don't play the anthem before a movie, concert, or play. And in many sports the athletes are from other countries.

/Started wondering when I went to a Jays-Rays game
//We weren't in Canada and none of the players were Canadian

I once watched a movie on a military base, and they did have a National Anthem reel before the feature presentation. Everyone stood up and saluted.

Pro sports are by and large civilian events though.

And on a not completely related note, I was at a Two Time Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings game and for their Northrop Grumman propaganda "Hero of the Game", they honored a kid who was killed in Afghanistan by an IED before he even turned 25 or some shiat. They showed a montage of him on the video board and then showed a live camera of his parents bawling their eyes out while the crowd roared in standing ovation. I was farking horrified.

I should add that normally they honor someone who's alive and in the arena so he or she can stand up and acknowledge the cheers. This time was different though, and it really sucked out any energy I had
