Ooh, I bet the rank & file will just luuuuv this...

But the Republicans are the ones that support the military?

I finally found it. Thank you much.

Hypothetical point of order: if a member of the Taliban managed to kill Trump, would he (or she) qualify for the bounty? Trump is a civilian, but also commander-in-chief.

The situation might have to be referred to Taliban HR.

So...any word from the Pentagon?

I thought Trump had his own bounty... seriously.

Donnie to scream at employees later that Bannon had told him installing a complete nutjob to oversee official news coverage (VOA etc.) would prevent any actual reporting of how trump has betrayed the troops and the country.

This one should probably also be greened.

The Fark headline for this thread suggests that this was submitted not for the story itself (in which case it should have the repeat tag and/or be redlit for being a repeat); but for the fact that Stars And Stripes covered the story, and by extension has made its way into the collective consciousness of the military.

I'm pretty sure troops serving in Afghanistan will be less than pleased to learn that their own boss doesn't have a problem with them being murdered by bounty hunters.

So?  They'll just say it's all a lie and the 'just following orders' crowd will proudly salute it.

I mean, fifty people can chime in and insist that it was always this way with Trump and ain't nothing gonna happen blah x 3, but we can agree that the Commander-in-Chief being complicit in bounties collected on his own soldiers is above and beyond the realm of farked?

The next time Dump makes an appearance and there are active duty or retired military present, they should all turn their backs to him and stand with their arms folded in defiance.

He's done nothing to earn anyone's respect, much less deserving it by virtue of his title.

If you killed Putin's biggest asset your bounty would be paid in polonium

Because he's an idiot. He does something stupid and hateful every single day. Do you honestly think that he was cognizant enough to get out ahead of a news story before it broke?

Better yet:
-feed him, his family, and co-conspirators to the pigs;-fertilize his favorite golf course with the piggy manure;-the golf course becomes a national pissing park for all to enjoy.

i'm not sure about the sources for this story doh, taliban's where being paid by the u.s before and well there is a lot to gain u.s wise if it's tru even if it's just a morale booster.

when there is a easy way to generate the story / a lot to gain from it and no clear way of confirming the story ...

Yeah, I was wondering what was up with that. It seemed to come out of nowhere. And yet someone had to have told him in no uncertain words "You're guilty of treason" for him to go "Obama's guilty of treason!" His brain only knows that one neat trick.

Why are people blaming Trump for this?

This was standard practice in the Cold War for decades. Yes, the Cold War went to tepid for around 25 years or so, but now its back in a big way, which means we resume realpolitik. We kill theirs, they kill ours, we just don't talk about it in polite company.

Nope.   They will still vote R over D by a 2-1 margin next election.   Because R means iron jawed no-nonsense personal responsibility support the troops and D mean squishy blame America First mommy party that want to tax rich and white people and starve the troops while paying for therapists for meth addicts.

They really think that way.
