Google isn't providing this as a 'feature' or to be nice.

They want more and more data on the business and the customer. Right now, the content is private and it should stay that way.

My Pixel 3a screens calls automatically. Spam calls are somehow identified and I never even know they called. If I want to screen, there is a feature for that as well. It seems to work pretty well for me.

That's what voicemail is for. Anyone placing a cold call has to know that most of us aren't picking up if we don't recognize the number.
