Wow. I don't know what to say to people who still believe the GOP knows it can't win when The People can vote. This is disgusting.

And if you don't find it repulsive ask yourself- what is the motive? It sure as f*ck isn't fraud.

Seems in-line with the state which elected Rick Perry as governor as one, two, "I can't. The third one, I can't. Sorry. Oops" terms.

Fear of contacting the virus is an sufficient enough reason to trainwreck the entire world economy by putting billions of people under house arrest for a while. But it's not an sufficient enough reason to request a mail in ballot.

We need to start a campaign to send N95 masks to registered Democrats in Texas before voting day.

It's not the decision in the matter but an emergency request to jump the appeals court.

They're terrified of Texas flipping. It's right on the cusp. It's currently at D +0.4.

Still waiting for those 10k+ deaths in WI that were predicted to happen the last time the SCOTUS ruled on balloting.  It's almost as if there is an agenda being pushed under the guise of "safety".

You're right. The agenda is protecting your constitutional right to vote while protecting the health of voters. Why do you hate democracy?

This election is going to be the biggest shiatshow in history with all the garbage the GOP is going to try and pull in their desperation to retain power.

Doesn't matter.
What does matter is: what do you have against voting by mail? Many countries have it, it works just fine and is secure. So again, what is your problem with people voting by mail? Do you just want to keep them from voting because you don't like their choice? Maybe acting in the interest of the people the four  years before an election would do the trick.

I am glad the SCOTUS finally decided to show us it has - and can use - a backbone.

I actually expected this. I'm not an expert in the law, but I thought to myself, "the SC will say something like 'it's the state's business to make laws about elections.'"

In a year that wasn't 2020 and in a state that wasn't Texas, that might mean an emergency session of the legislature could be called to address this critical issue of citizen enfranchisement. Or maybe the governor could look into this?

😂🤣😂🤣

2020-06-27 6:27:50 AM
really despise these people. It's such an obvious public health measure to do everything possible to facilitate online or mail in voting among registered voters in the middle of an American pandemic that appears to just be picking up speed....and the GOP wants to roll the dice with peoples' lives to try the usual voter suppression shenanigans. Desperate.

The researchers acknowledged that the protests had several factors that could lead to increased transmission - people in close proximity, chanting or screaming that could spread respiratory droplets, use of pepper spray or tear gas by law enforcement that could cause coughing - but they instead found that the protests led more people to stay at home, and that those who did attend the protests likely benefited from wearing masks and being outside.

its 2020 Why do i need to physically go anywhere to vote ? States have had voting by mail for years. Many in GOP strongholds. Why didnt you have an issue with it before ? Or is it you are just really in to disenfranchising people and making it as inconvenient to vote for "those" people

2020-06-27 8:33:47 AM
now they'll close all but one polling place by saying the virus makes the other locations unsafe, and you can have a hands across texas event with a 300 mile socially-distant line to get in to vote

2020-06-27 8:40:30 AM
In light of the current pandemic this is absurd.  However, if you are going to deny everyone the opportunity to vote by mail then you should require the establishment of sufficient polling places. Let's see if that happens.

I still don't understand the problem behind voting per mail. There are ways to secure the process, if you want it.

The US have many funny ways to exclude their citizens from exercising the very thing that makes a democracy a democracy and here's is yet another.
And what's even more hilarious is that it happens in the very nation that claims to be exceptional and tells countries all over the world how things should be. One could come to the conclusion that you are a bunch of hypocrites who have forgotten that one way to win over voters is to actually make good politics.

The stuff you label as socialism or marxism or whatever it is you wrongly call it next is, that's called common sense in every other first world country.

2020-06-27 9:39:42 AM
Fine. If this is the way it has to be, then this is the way it will be. Texas farkers, mask up, get in line, and vote. Risk of illness or death? That puts you in the same company as everyone else who sacrificed everything so you could have the privilege to vote. That's good company. Revel in it.

And if any ignorant SFB* gives you shiat about the mask, shoot them in the face. It's the Texas way.

If you can't figure out the difference between standing in line inside a polling place for 30 minutes while the unmasked person behind you is exhaling virus, and marching in the street, occasionally passing a masked carrier who might be exhaling 10% of the unmasked person's viral load, well, I'm not actually surprised because you're not well known for your intellectual prowess.

I don't get it. Are you looking for someone to say voting by mail is bad because some people did not get a virus in the Wisconsin primary, or that someone made up statistics on the rioters not spiking with the virus because voting by mail is bad, or.....

...this seems like an odd stance to take on voting by mail.

Because that will make voting easy and really expand access to voting. That means that the Republican party will never win another election ever again.

There is a large portion of stupid people in this country who actually believe that fox news is real news and not Republican propaganda. Fox news tells them that the other countries are on the brink of failure and descending into chaos because of their socialist policies.
