I think the creationists can rest easy. There's no evidence that they have any synapses.

The universe is so ridiculously complex and awesome I don't know why folks need to feel that god specifically made them by hand.
If I were him I'd set up the system and then watch it all go down.
Like dwarf fortress with sponges and stars

If I were him I'd be a myth invented thousands of years ago by people who were trying to be less afraid of life, the universe, and everything.

All you need to know is that God, Lord of Creation, the guy who knows the position and momentum of every subatomic particle, is going to send you to hell for all eternity because you touch yourself.

Sorry. I don't make the rules.

I am fascinated by systems that exhibit emergent processes.  And there are a lot of them, usually between the reductionist labels for the various formal sciences (physics-chemistry-biology-psychology).

TFA triggered me big time.

/gonna go grok on that one for a while

What confuses me is modern religion vs ancient religions.  They both try to explain creation as hand-made by god(s), but the deities are vastly different.  They used to be dumb, horny, capricious assholes (like us) so it made sense the world they made was idiosyncratic.
