honestly, I can see the mesothelioma-esque commercials now:

There was a line like that in the movie Bachelor Party with Tom Hanks, but it was Gentlemen, start your boners.

Got nothin' people who watch Fox are stupid super spreaders. I already knew that.

My mom has succumbed to levels of ignorance so deep that even my dad finds it shocking.  She thinks the reason our covid case numbers are rising is because the nasal test picks up all coronaviruses, not just this one.  And she invited my brother and I to her house for July 4th, which is several states away from us.  It's like this thing doesn't even exist to her.

She watches Fox News and reads InfoWars.

Most people that don't watch fox regularly don't have any idea of just how poisonous it is.

Most people that *do* watch fox regularly are there because they like the poison.

A couple months ago there were stories about Fox News' lawyers telling their pundits to cool things down because they're going to get sued.

I'm as shocked as anyone that pundits wouldn't listen. I guess they're going to go to trial and lose, then file appeal after appeal until they draw a Trump appointee who says, "Sure, twenty judges said you should probably be on trial for manslaughter, but Hannity autographed my copy of Tucker's book, so I'm gonna let you slide."

2020-06-26 8:47:46 AM
It's just enraging that pieces of shiat like Carlson, Hannity, and Ingraham get time on primetime television to spout harmful, deadly lies like this, and when they are called out on what they say, they immediately play the "This is only entertainment" card.

The thing is that those prime time pundits are pretty much part of the Trump Administration at this point, especially Hannity.  They desperately need to do whatever they must to keep him in power; if Trump goes down, they do too.

Just air the ads during the latest episodes of Blue Bloods. That should cover the audience well

I got "How To Stop Your Dog Barking" and a women's linen shirts ad. I have been shopping for linen shirts, but I don't have a dog. *shrugs* A friend texted me pics of their foster dog, maybe?

I must have really screwed up their targeting machine.

If you've read several stories about police, etc it could deliver those ads to you. Based on rough geographic data, it could deliver those to you because people in that area tend to lean that direction (since you're in an incognito window) or wherever they're pinging the server to.

Fark ad is giving me a beard balm ad. I don't have a beard and can't due to my line of work. The ads are unpredictable and I'm not in an incognito window.

Retargeting ads are more effective but it's hard to say which are retargeting and which are intent or general interest ads.

Also, sorry - I didn't mean to suggest that you were actually interested in those things (hence the quotes), only that the algorithms think you are, for whatever reason. Interaction is interaction to them, regardless of motivation.

My in laws are devout Southern Baptists who think that COVID is a hoax (per "Plandemic"), no worse than a case of the flu, and that God is the only mask they need.  They also think poor honest don is a good man and that the lamestream media is just picking on him.

I can barely stand to even talk to these people any more.  It is becoming increasingly difficult to hide my contempt at their willful ignorance.  This year cannot be over fast enough.
