That checks out. I knew there was something off about Colmes -- he triggered my uncanny valley instincts.
I mean, I don't like to speak ill of the dead, but if he's a fake white guy, no foul.

In my experience, most people on the right, Republican and Democrat both, tend to think of their own position as the "center" of the political spectrum, while those of us on the left tend to have a more accurate idea of where we fall.

I'm aware, for example, that I'm nowhere near the middle - I'm quite extremely far left.

I'm not sure either, but I'm now considering the glass on the right for a senior management position in my organization. There's just something about it that exudes leadership.

The 1st Amendment and freedom of the press exist SOLELY to protect political advocacy. What kind of farking country do you want to live in? The right understands this.  Why can't "liberals" farking get this?

You don't have to lie like right does, but you sure in the hell don't have to give Nazis equal time to scratch your farking neutrality itch.

There are fewer editors now than there were in 1995, there are fewer news outlets and many are owned by just a few media corporations.

There used to be regulation prohibiting one person from buying up all the news outlets. The regulations were scrapped in 1996.

If the regulations were reenacted, the news would become more accurate, it would peer review itself more readily.

In terms of American politicians, about four fifths of the way between Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders. He's a left looking moderate centrist and she's a right looking moderate centrist.

I advocate nationalizing all corporations and corporate held property and resources, outlawing interest, and institution of a UBI on the road to bringing a complete end to capitalism. Hence far left.

I think submitter may have misunderstood the point of the article but that's OK, because the article itself was a little ... confusing.

But the gist is correct. The "liberal" media doesn't exist. It's just the media, which "both sides" everything, including things that don't have sides. Like science. They disseminate President Sniveling Asshole's stupid in the name of "objectivity" right alongside actual useful information, so the actual useful information gets overshadowed and/or ignored. Then they sit back and think they've done a great job of informing everyone. And extend that to every issue: abortion, racism,

All 'story' writing, history, news, etc., is inherently subjective. The choice of topic is a subjective decision. The choice of words to convey information is the result of subjective decisions. The writer has a point of view, and attempting to be "objective" is an attempt to remove that point of view. It cannot be achieved.

Extra credit: The reader also has a subjective point of view through which information is received and evaluated.

This is why I found the following sentence from the article so goddamned funny:

All you can worry about is that you haven't told them what they need to know.

Not for long, but allowing personal property to be retained until death instead of simply seized along with corporate policy will make the transition smoother.

I don't think the headline and the story match at all. It's not talking about Right Wing news, it's talking about all news.

And it's not about telling the "liberal" side it's talking about the neutral viewpoint.

There's literally nothing at all in that article about the right wing and telling the "liberal" side, at all.
