Will the kids die of COVID? Probably not.

But when they're at a grandparent's funeral, they should make them get up and speak. Or, they should just make them have to spend an hour a day on the phone with their grandparents for the next four weeks, followed by an hour of having it explained to them why grandma and grandpa either can't leave their room at the nursing home for a month now or will perhaps face their doom.

They won't die, but they may suffer permanent liver damage for the rest of their life.

\so they've got that going for them
\\which is nice

Good?

Good. At this point, I hope the "muh freedumbz!" anti-maskers win and this reaches Biblical proportions. Humanity needs a good culling, starting with the willfully ignorant, the "God will protect me', and "This is to prepare us for Sharia Law" dumbfarks.

I saw yesterday how a lot of the new cases are younger people going out and for social stuff, so glad I don't have kids to worry about during this mess.

So all the Universities that want to open in the fall are counting on the students to be smart and socially distance when they are off campus.

That's the joke.

There is something like 2% penetration in the general population. Basically everyone is "potentially exposed".

As someone who lives in Texas*, this is par for the course for the stupidity that is running rampant through this state right now. I wouldn't mind if the virus killed only those comporting themselves so stupidly but, alas, it will also infect those who have had no part in the stupidity.

Perhaps if enough people die, Abbot will finally stop jerking off to that dollar bill he has in his hand and start acting like a responsible governor. However, as he is a Republican, I hold little hope for that outcome.

*I say "lives in Texas" rather than "Texan" because I have long divorced myself from any sort of belief that I belong here.

And all these kids and their parents will get on their social media accounts and whine that President Trump is not doing enough about the coronavirus pandemic.

Lakeway used to be open only to those VPs or above from major oil companies or their peers.  They had full gas during the great gas crisis, because their residents owned Mobil, Shell, Texaco, etc, when everyone else was lining up for miles at the one pump that was still open.

I'm sure nothing much has changed other that the prices going up.

They would chopper in to the ER, and then announce "Do you know who I am" to demand their due respect.

A few weeks ago more than one hundred thousand were possibly exposed as they gathered in one location in Hollywood. Who wants to bet the number of people who tested positive after that gathering won't be published?

Lakeway is an odd place. There's three types of people. The first group are the people described above. The second are all the new money Austinites that cashed in on the software development boom.

Then there's the third.

There's a ton of rednecks in Lakeway that bought back in the day simply because it was affordable compared to the rest of the city. No one was living out in Lakeway in the 70s-80s because it was considered way too far from Austin. And to be fair, it's way the hell out there.

So Lakeway has a bunch of unsophisticated rubes that unwittingly bought prime real estate. It's sorta like how they used to serve lobster in jail.
