Guys that care about how they look are dumb or gay. If you really do have an above average IQ, that would be a turn off for them. Luckily, you do not seem that far above average. 5 to 10 points either way should not be a barrier to love.

Being attractive does suck. But she clearly doesn't have any interest past getting things handed to her. Seems to me she's cruising for an bitter divorce from not having an open mind past what she wants to rub her uglies against...

Shrug. She sounds tedious. Long-winded and most sentences have "I" as the subject or "me" as the direct object (regarding what men do for her/should do for her). Maybe the hot guys know that they can get arse without having to listen to that crap. After all, being smart isn't equivalent to being interesting.

But what do I know? I'm a mid-30s woman who got married when I was in my early 20s and luckily missed out on all this tiresome crap.

By the time you're in your 30s, average-looking guys who are still single generally settle on a "shoot your shot" mindset where they ask out every hot girl on the off chance it works. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, hey, maybe she'll think I'm cute.

On the other hand, by the time you're in your 30s, hot guys have realised they don't actually have to put much effort into asking anyone out; they just need to go outside and make eye contact, or put a few choice pics on an app, and then let everyone else do the work of approaching them.

So if you're a hot woman in your 30s, you're usually not going to be approached by hot guys. You are going to be approached by average guys. The hot guys are busy doing exactly what you're doing: putting on a swimsuit, flexing a bit, and waiting for someone to come over and offer to fark them so they can decide on whether to take them up on it or hold out for a hotter offer.

So you're both on opposite ends of the pool, both surrounded by offers, and you're deciding you don't like your offers and want the hot guy over on the other end. Well, then: Get up off your ass, walk over to him, and tell him what you want.

Go shoot your shot.

Yeah, anyone with a phone and an instagram account can do that.

She's past her expiration date for hot guys that are only looking for sex.

2020-06-26 6:52:03 AM
I am sure she is everything she says she is pretty and smart and what not.

Her issue is if a hot dude in his mid 30s is going to go for a "semi-committed medium-term partner" (her words of what she wants) well that guy is gonna go for the mid 20s option first.

If you are going to date like a 20 year old in your 30s, then you need to be prepared to compete against 20 year olds.

Given the great haircut freakout of 2020, there are a lot of dumb and gay guys out there.

I read that as "So you're both on opposite ends of the pool, both surrounded by otters..." which sounds like it would make sex either difficult or truly depraved.  Must get coffee now.
Regarding Miss Incredibly Attractive, if she's being accurate, being too good-looking can scare off guys who think they don't have a chance, or she's deluding herself which is what I suspect.

I was with my bro in law, in a bar next to a takeout food joint (really good Indian food)....we were waiting for our order. This bar is located adjacent to a campus of a fancy, expensive, university chock full of extremely bright people.

ANYHOW, a young lady at, let's be generous, the bottom end of average, is surrounded by at least a dozen male suitors (stereotype nerds) and acting as if she was way too hot for any of them. She did allow one to buy her a drink, and flirted (awkwardly) with a couple of others.

We laughed to each other about how rude of an awakening this young lady was in for when she left the university.

I now wonder if she ever had that awakening, or was just puzzled by the drop off in attention. The smartest people....

See that one alllll the time, and not just with nerds etc.  They're still trying to figure out how the fark this shiat's supposed to work - and the only thing they have to fall back on is stereotypical behavior.  Combine that with actually getting attention along those lines, which many did not pre-college - even when the attention consists of "I want to get laid" it's a powerful reinforcement for the aforementioned stereotypical behavior.  Takes a lot of people a while to figure out that doesn't work too well once they hit reality.

/it's not even so much a "smartest people" thing as it is a "young people that have zero idea how this sanely works outside of media bs and are learning the hard way" thing

Question for the Mods:  I see that my comment, as well as the comment I was responding to, was removed. I honestly don't know what the reason was. Can someone post the reason here (or email me)? Seriously, I have no idea what my infraction was. I did post a link but disclaimed it as being NSFW (and it was a very mild NSFW compared to what I've seen here before)...was that why?

Or was it just a too irrelevant CSB?

I'm not a mod and I didn't see either, but usually there is a little comment that only you will be able to see in the post deleted bar to tell you exactly why your comment was deleted. However if your comment referenced a post that was deleted, yours will be deleted just for referencing it. So it may not have been you, but the post you referenced that infracted a rule, or it may have been deleted by that poster's request, for example giving out too much personal information, or some such.

She is 35 and fails to understand that female beauty is about maintaining what all women are given and male attractiveness is about being lucky enough to be born with potential and achieving it.

She is definitely no longer as hot as she once was and the men are as good as she can get.
