Opening paragraph:

Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. will hold his first event of the 2020 campaign with former President Barack Obama on Tuesday, and more than 120,000 people have already paid to attend, according to the Biden campaign, raising more than $4 million.

It takes 8 more paragraphs before they mention virtual events and then we have to assume that's what they mean in the above. That's some sloppy journalism.

Yeah, I've got no doubt they can pack a stadium... Obama could pack a stadium with about 30 mins notice.

120,000 people have paid money to not see Joe Biden in person.  The people have spoken.

He filled our sparsly populated red state's sh*tty football stadium (12,000?) back in 2008 for the primaries so I'm inclined to agree with you

Too bad it's virtual. I would love to see Biden and Obama riling up a crowd of 120,000 k-pop fans. Because for those two they'd actually show up.

Dear Trump supporters,

Do you want to own the libs? Would you like revenge for how they tried to embarrass out Dear Leader in Tulsa.

Have we got a deal for you. Sign up for Biden's upcoming campaign event  and then don't show up. All you need to do is to make a small $25 donation and tell them you'll attend their on-line event. Then, on the day of the event, say home and wear your read hat.

That'll show THEM.

-- Thanks, The Comite to relecct the Prisident.

Trump to respond with a virtual rally of his own where 12 billion have already paid and will completely full the virtual world to the virtual rafters. Virtually.

From TFA:

"About six weeks ago, the D.N.C. saw about 20 unsolicited $1,200 donations show up online - unusually large sums to arrive unexpectedly. Mr. Perez asked his team to investigate. In turns out, people had decided to essentially forward their government stimulus checks to defeat Mr. Trump. "

Cool.

Yup. I swore I would never step foot on the Air Force Academy grounds again...but when a coworker said that his kids REALLLLY wanted to see Obama speak and I was their last option to get tickets, I did not hesitate to go to the AOG and drive there to get tickets.

/I can't say no to kids...or Obama.

Now that's how you run an event during a global pandemic. Yuuuge participation, makes money instead of wasting it, and no one gets infected by the anti-mask brigade.

Well done to Mr. Biden, once again being the adult in the room. Of course, the "liberal" media won't cover it at all, and if they do it will be like this article where they bury the point that it is a virtual event to make sure that people can BSAB all over it.

I don't watch campaign speeches. They're boring and predictable. If something interesting happens it will be reported.

Agreed. There's nothing Biden can say or do to make himself a worse candidate than Trump, so he already has my vote locked up for the general election.

I still chipped in for this, and will log in (even if I don't watch a bit of it). It's a good way to send a signal to trump that he's a pathetic asshole and most of the country hates him. So that part is nice.
