Luxury is commuting an hour to work in Austin? Yeah, no.

If you can't handle a tarantula, you'd better get out of Texas before you meet the rest of your neighbors.

1.  Teach it to cook, and you can have six course dinners
2.  Teach it to box, and you won't need a burlar alarm
3.  Teach it to cuddle on cold night, you can save a winter heating
4.  Get a $600 credit on the next stimulus check
5.  Teach it to vote, and punk the tin foil hat crowd
6.  Teach it to mail in a vote, and punk the Parscale crowd
7.  Replace your TV remote with a swift, 8 fingered, channel changer
8.  Perch it on your shoulder for your next Zoom encounter or Talk like a Pirate Day
9.  Claim it was given a vaccination for the 'Rona by Lt. Gov Dan "Kill Granny" Patrick

flaming bob: They do have a benefit, they keep the pest population down by eating roaches

I'll happily take the spider.

Spiders live rent-free in my home.  They don't show up very often, but when you see one out and about, there's a bug needs to be et.  Other day I saw one that had crawled out of the baseboards, near a pile of dirty clothes.  Must have found something I picked up from the walk.  A while later, it was gone and the bug was too.  Thanks, spider.

Call me when you have Brown Recluses, Black Widows, one of the venomous snakes that starts with a C (there are 3), and Rabies Bats plaguing your property. Welcome to Austrailia Texas.

That's basically a typical I-35 commute with how congested it is now. Shiat, my cousin lives at the Domain and it takes me just about that to get in and out of the place.

buttercat: Tarantulas are cool and easy going.

As bugs go, they're ok, and they eat other bugs.

One of the science teachers at my Jr High school had one in his classroom.  I got to the point where I'd put my hand in the aquarium (he used an aquarium to house it) and let the spider crawl into my palm.

The spider really liked having its back scratched.  It would arch its back like a cat when you did that.

Still, I'd prefer to know where they are before I enter the room.
