Drop Fox too. Purpose built as propaganda.

And AT&T should be mercilessly hammered for hosting OAN on DirecTV.

AT&T is on my shiatlist for data caps, poor service, and anti-net-neutrality in the first place. I refuse to live anywhere they're the only option and will never get them for cellular service or satellite ever again. I hate them with a passion and hope they go up in flames, get extinguished, and go up in flames again. Even that won't be enough to prevent the monstrosity from reforming.

The bottom of TFA indicates OAN got on DirecTV by suing AT&T, after OAN got onto AT&T's U-verse and AT&T decided U-verse wasn't the most promising direction to be pushing. TFA also indicates that the current deal unfortunately runs through early 2021. Since it was probably the basis for the settlement, and since the depths of OAN's evil was slightly less apparent back in 2017, I'd suggest it might be more appropriate that AT&T be mercifully hammered for this.

OAN probably can't be made toxic enough for AT&T to negotiate an early end to that deal; however, I hope the AT&T opening offer for the renegotiation is something like "OAN must pay AT&T $100 per subscriber".

They don't want to carry a highly controversial "news" channel that will almost certainly be culturally irrelevant by February 2021.

They aren't going to sign a multi-year contract to carry a network that they think won't matter by this time next year.

It is weird, they do not have the revenue stream that being on the air would give them, and are basically just a glorified youtube channel, but somehow they have a major budget.  Like some major world power is just pumping money into their patreon account by the billions.  I mean who would do that comrades?

Mogadishu has a more solvent economy than Russia.  No way Putin is pissing away what money he can control on ONAN.  The Russian MO has been to fund bare-bones operations on a shoestring and hope for the best.  There is infinitely more chance that Andorra is funding ONAN than Russia.

Yes, because the 1st amendment guaranteeing protections against government actions are totally apply here in discussions about contract negotiations between private commercial entities...

I get that your political infotainment channel broadcasting programming aimed at septuagenarians means a lot to you, but you probably shouldn't rely on it as an actual informational source.

It's really the easiest thing to get rid of. I haven't had cable in almost ten years now, have never missed any show I wanted to see and no longer have to watch any commercials.

The biggest downside is no more idle scrolling through channels for re-runs and being like 'yeah this last half of an episode was ok, guess I'll watch this'.

Yay! An AT&T hate thread. I dropped them years ago when I signed up for internet. They offered up to 10 megabits of speed. When I was all connected I was running just over 1 megabit. I called to complain and they said what's the problem we said it's up to 10, we didn't say 10. Haven't used them since, never will again

Roku OANN is $5 a month. I doubt they will pay for it.

Roku news on Pluto:

Americas Voice
The First
OAN Encore
Blaze
Newsmax
RT America
TYT Network

So they have plenty of crap to poison their brain.

I've almost got my dad cured of this nonsense. He's retired and should be relaxing and focusing on things he enjoys. Instead he's always pissed off about liberals and "fake news" (read: actual news) because he watches this bullshiat all day or listens to it on S/XM in his truck.
I rationally explained to him while we were fishing one day that those channels are specifically designed to rile up white people between the ages of 55 and dead to keep them hooked. Used a few examples from the past couple of days, and he seemed to come around a little.
Outrage is a hard addiction to break though, and he still has his dumb Facebook propaganda feed.

This is perfect. Don't focus on pointing out inaccuracies, because this is a matter of beliefs and no one's ever been converted after an argument. Point out how they're manipulating him.

Same thing with the NRA. I want my bang-bangs too, but the NRA is just a marketing force that sells fear about losing them. They don't do anything to advance gun rights, they just try to spook their followers into giving them money.

I have Comcast Business too. Got it when I cut the cable and was streaming gaming with a service called Onlive (now since defunct) but I was worried about data caps.  Heard horror stories of Comcast cutting people off for a year or more for exceeding their data cap twice.

I pay for 75 down but reliably get over 90 Mbps.  It's still not even close to fiber but it's more than enough for me.

How much are you using? They seem to be rather inconsistent on how much they let someone use. Most often I've seen people say when they get to about 100GB a month is when Comcast started biatching, then others have hit double that before they've said anything, and others have used even more without hearing from Comcast at all.

I think the cap was 250GB per month, at a time when I was told HD streaming was like 5GB per hour.  I wasn't taking any chances since I dropped Comcast cable service.  This was 10 years ago, things have certainly changed since then.
