Didn't somebody already mention the theory that Americans are getting into Canada by pretending to be on their way to Alaska? We obviously are going to need two Beautiful walls, about 9,000-10,000 kilometers (or even miles) long and staffed by Mexicans.

Good thing Mexico has agreed to send us more Mexican farm workers despite the Covid deaths. Maybe we should put in an order for 10,000,000 Mexicans to guard our borders, after the Elections are over, of course, and they are not needed to write in Hillary Clinton.

Gaylord Q. Tinkledink: Well in the American's defence, it's hard to tell that you're not in America when you're in Alberta. It's pretty much the 51st State.

As I mentioned in a thread a few days ago, Gaylord is a goddam moron who doesn't know a goddam thing about Alberta.  As someone that lives in Banff, it is far to the left of most of the rest of Canada, despite what Gaylord might think   How about we start calling Ontario 'Klantario'?   This happened in Toronto:  https://twitter.com/howshehustles/status/1274174964405501952

We should be kicking these morons out of the country, banning them for life, and taking their car if they don't immediately pay the fine. As a 'destination', we're going to have enough trouble keeping the virus out without importing it.

puffy999 I mean, isn't hiking social distancing?

In my experience, international tourists don't do 'real' hikes where you are actually socially distanced.  We have a lot of easy 'tourist trails' that are packed, and they stick to those, ride the gondola, eat a restaurants and head to the packed sightseeing areas.  The 'real' hikes are mostly done by people that live within a few hundred klicks.

I suggest we build a wall.  A big beautiful wall, the likes of which no one has ever seen (especially Mexico... one that works)...  And make the Americans pay for it.

To be fair all turns are to the left or right, because, unfortunately, few highways have vertical loops in them.

Never been into mountaineering, have you? The log books at the top of nearly every summit that I've been to is full of German, Austrian, Swiss, and to a lesser extent norther Italian hikers. Now if you wanted to say that slovenly crass American prototourists never leave the boardwalk areas, then yes I would agree, by getting a few hundred feet off the beaten path you've left 98% of the crowds behind. If you avoid the top 5 trails in a given area you've left another probably 80% behind. Even in places like the White Mountains in NH that are a Mecca for outdoor enthusiasts it's not at all difficult to find a trail where you might pass by a few people on a half day hike.

Trump dollars. You can only spend them at Trump Land. They're like money that nobody takes anywhere, even in Trump Land stores and rides. Only "fun". You know, like the "Disney Money" they sell you at Disney World and Disney Land. They don't even take it in the "Park", although you might be able to negotiate with hookers.

If you can parse the grammar of a headline it's a miracle and you're worried about mixing up linger and malinger. Welcome to Fark I guess.

The headline was much easier to parse than the turd you left here. Englishes are hard aren't they.

Have you considered that you may have dyslexia or something similar?

He's right, though. Your sentence structure sucks.

Under current rules, Americans may come through Canada to get home or get to work in Alaska, but they must travel along a direct path.
When I drove the ALCAN in the 1990s, it was the exact opposite of a direct path, consisting entirely of turns to the left or right. Perusing Wikipedia, I see there has been a considerable amount of improvement done since then, but I am sure there are still sections of the winding-in-and-winding-out that long-time travelers will remember.

Huh? USD recently hit 1.4 to CAD, the second highest rate since 2001. It's currently just off that high at 1.36. The reason is your most valuable commodity is crude oil and that's more in the crapper than out economy for the moment.
