If that's not an underwater weather balloon, I don't know what is.
2004-08-18 5:33:41 AM
Yeah, we have one of those in our pool. It's called a reflection.
2004-08-18 5:34:27 AM
Well, I was a firm believer in sea monsters until I saw these pics.
2004-08-18 5:43:03 AM
It's a breakthrough to film a mirage? WTF?
2004-08-18 6:34:03 AM
It's a sparkplug and it's coming right at us!
2004-08-18 6:51:23 AM
binnster, I for one, welcome, our 1/4" pipe X 1/4 O.D tube compression fitting overlords.
2004-08-18 6:59:18 AM

I don't - I just cut my thumb on a jubilee clip whilst fannying about with pipe fittings. Smite them, smite them all!

I just cut my thumb on a jubilee clip

binnster, We call those "worm gear hose clamps" here on the other side of the pond.
2004-08-18 7:37:56 AM
Picture looks exactly like a spark plug on the pavement on a really hot day. How does one get "sea monster" out of that?
2004-08-18 7:46:12 AM
Even if I wanted to believe, I can't figure out how that doesn't look like some mechanical device!
2004-08-18 8:20:56 AM
it looks innocent enough, but....
2004-08-18 8:22:20 AM
try again...

That's obviously the planet Venus.
2004-08-18 9:23:46 AM
Now I don't want to be an alarmist here, but that looks an awful lot like

It's my penis.
2004-08-18 9:59:15 AM
Um... It's a scam people. This guy just wants to draw business in to his community. Wake up.
2004-08-18 10:05:19 AM

There's no Santa, either!

"Another issue is that Sundberg never managed to focus the picture before the object disappeared underneath the water surface."

Imagine that.
2004-08-18 10:40:00 AM
Is that the tube thing from Arkanoid?
2004-08-18 10:41:18 AM

/Switched at birth?
2004-08-18 10:42:08 AM
Why are picture of sea monsters, bigfoot and UFOs always out of focus?
2004-08-18 10:42:51 AM
Damnit, Mugato, you beat me to the Nomad ref. Well, still no comment from Jackson Roykirk.
2004-08-18 10:43:17 AM
That guy looks like Michael Moore. So I hate him.
2004-08-18 10:43:31 AM
I had a snarky comment at the ready, but I bow to the wisdom of the assembled TFers. teh funny
2004-08-18 10:44:14 AM
Holy crap, Uncle Jessie does exist!!!!

/Bo and Luke unavailable for comment...
2004-08-18 10:44:28 AM
Why is it that pictures of ufo's or sea monsters all look the same? Grainy and blurry. That's all you ever see. For all I know, those pictures could be of a muffler off an old 55 ford or something. Get back to me when you have some real evidence, not a picture of a car part.

Sundberg said to the Norwegian radio channel Kanal 24. We have filmed an animal that moves itself up and down in the water.

In other news, Rosie O'Donnell; vacations at lake Seljordsvannet
2004-08-18 10:45:13 AM
The side article - "Snake hid in swimmer's trunks" seems potentially much funnier (and NSFW).
2004-08-18 10:45:14 AM

Oh wait...

Yellow Number 666

Because, somewhere out there, there is an entire soft-focussed and/or fuzzy planet waiting to attack.

We'll never see it coming.

Well...we might...but not very well.
2004-08-18 10:45:56 AM
I dunno kinda looks like a martini shaker to me.
2004-08-18 10:46:02 AM
Amazing. Looks exactly like a picture you'd find on eBay.
2004-08-18 10:46:03 AM
Man someone's cheap camcorder CCD overloads and we get sea monsters. I wonder what they would try to pass off if they got a stuck pixel.
2004-08-18 10:46:44 AM
Looks like the front of an on coming truck to me.
2004-08-18 10:46:53 AM
Kingoctopus: Is that the tube thing from Arkanoid?

I do believe it is.
2004-08-18 10:48:28 AM
Un-identified flying object monster in the water? Riiiiiiight.
2004-08-18 10:50:15 AM
Well as long as it doesn't leave water circles I won't freak out.
