Please explain to us how it is better to spend 750 dollars for a 200 dollar phone like the Librem 5, which you can get six months from now if you pay today!

Apple's support for their watches is dogshiat.  There is a known issue that causes the red exclamation mark error.  It can be fixed, but they won't do it.  I could do it if I was willing to pay 100 dollars for the dongle needed to reload the OS on the phone.

Just theoretically, how much would you pay someone else, who had a dongle, to fix that issue for you?

And as a followup - how many of your friends with that issue would it take to fund that dongle?

I actually thought about doing that:  buying a dongle then using it to fix other people's.  The problem there is I don't feel right charging friends for stuff like that.  As for doing it for people I don't know, there is a liability issue that I wouldn't want.

As for how much would I pay someone to fix it for me?  $50.
