According to the Republicans in the Senate, it isn't a problem when he does this.

We have a Republican problem in the Senate that is more dangerous, really, than the idiocy and narcissism problems we have in the West Wing. The narcissistic idiot in the White House is also incompetent and lazy, which somewhat mitigates that threat.

Trump "did not feel shamed by what the special counsel found, he did not feel deterred by what the special counsel found, he felt emboldened by escaping accountability," Schiff said. "For the very, very next day he is on the phone soliciting foreign interference" from Ukraine.

So basically, Bolton is providing more evidence of this.

Barr in 2019 to discuss his behavior. Bolton writes that Barr agreed he also was worried about the appearances created by the president's behavior.

Immediately after the meeting ended, Barr told Trump everything that had happened, then Barr destroyed the cure for AIDS, the vaccine for COVID-19, and burned down a Boeing hangar full of orphan children, disabled puppies, and the original US Constitution.

And that's the point when Bolton should have smothered Barr with his farking mustache. Doing favors for dictators is apparently peachy keen, unless it might look bad to too many people.

The Democrats share blame in this. They could have subpoenaed Bolton, Trump, Barr, or Pompeo, but they chose to play a game with the GOP Senate instead. After they realized that the GOP wasn't going to play the game by the rules the Dems should have gone back to the House and and gone nuts on subpoenas and lawsuits. Instead they tucked their tail between their legs and whimpered out "vote" as they scurried away back to the House.

The reason they chose not to go that route is because they would be waiting on those subpoenas to be litigated until well after the election.

He could have, and should have, testified.  This is true.  In normal times that should have been the proper thing to do, but realistically, no matter what happened during the impeachment process, there was no possibility, whatsoever, that there would have been 67 votes in the Senate for removal.  If Mr. Moustache gets to sell some books in a way that also makes it more likely that Trump actually gets removed from office come January, I can live with that.

Hasn't he and half the GOP been blaming China for the pandemic? Whatever he was hoping to get from China is pretty much up in smoke at this point.

As other articles have said, the only reason that China would help Trump is because Trump's incompetence gets them closer to becoming a financial superpower and taking over our position in the global market.

Rev.K: Bolton says he was so alarmed by Trump's determination to do favors for autocrats such as Erdogan and Xi that he scheduled a meeting with Attorney General William P.

Barr is a monster. A far more dangerous one than Trump because he's not starting from a baseline of moron and spiralling down into un-hideable cognitive decline, even if he is personally less repulsive.

The *only* concern that bastard had was that it threatened Barr's desire to do all of those things if word got out.

I'm betting the Germans have a word for that.

Just give it time and it'll happen.

Swedish is good for agglutinating words too.  They had this actual word many decades back:

"Spårvagnsaktiebolagsskensmutsskjutarefackföreningspersonalbeklädnadsmagasinsförrådsförvaltaren"

That means "The manager of the depot for the supply of uniforms to the personnel of the track cleaners' union of the tramway company"

It's easier in those Germanic languages because they pile modifiers and infinitives onto the end, which means you don't need any "of the" binders.  The word order defines it.  For example, while "manager" is on of the first words in the English sentence, it's the last part in the Swedish word (förvaltaren).

So let me try to Germanify the English and you'll get the idea, here assisted with BouncyCase which Germanic languages frown on because it makes things too easy for newbs:

"TramwayCompanyTrackCleanersUnionPersonnelClothingStorageSupplyManager"

Reuters: China grants more trademark approvals for Ivanka Trump firm - including voting machines

"including voting machines"

While I would love to make something nefarious out of that fact, I really can't.

Trademarks, by international treaty, are broken down into various classes - defined by goods or services.  For example: Clothing is in Class 25, while most processed food items are in Classes 29/30 and Farker's favorites, Beer is in class 32, while liquor is in Class 33.

In some countries you must describe with some specificity the exact goods/services you are selling under that particular mark.  In other countries (like China) you can use "Class Headings" to identify the goods/services on a very broad basis.

So Ivanka Trump uses her mark (as identified in the US Patent & Trademark Office Registrations) on a variety of electronic devices in Int'l Class 9, primarily for cell phone related goods.  However, in using the various Trademark Treaties, when she applied to use that US basis for registering her mark, she applied using the class headings, which in Class 9, includes Voting Machines.  It in no way reflects that she holds any trademark rights to voting machines in the USA.  So, it's not really the "scandal" that it's being made out to be.

Agreed. Bolton could have testified at the time that he saw Trump cook a live white baby with a blowtorch and eat it and it would not have mattered at all.  Whatever Bolton's motivations now, these revelations coming at this time do far more damage than they ever could have back then.

We have a Republican problem in the Senate that is more dangerous, really, than the idiocy and narcissism problems we have in the West Wing. The narcissistic idiot in the White House is also incompetent and lazy, which somewhat mitigates that threat.

It's dereliction of duty on the Republican Senators' behalf to allow Dump to do stupid shiat that's damaging to our national interests.

It's a crime of omission, and they all need to be voted out when their time for reelection comes.

It would be hilarious if Pompeo's "full of shiat" gets him thrown under the bus on his getting caught using the State Department as his personal servants and meeting with people to help with a 2024 presidential run.

It would be even more hilarious if this butterflied into Kobach winning the GOP nomination for Kansas's senate seat (since Pompeo didn't file for the primary), and faring just as well the last time he ran for statewide office.

They should ship the farking thing and force Trump to sue.

Barring a nationally enforceable restraining order, it's already done. The books are in the hands of the retailers, waiting for the scheduled release. That's how this works.

I mean at this point it's gone out to reviewers and advanced reader copies are out, which is how we know about this.

No point trying to delay it, and I think considering it'll probably be available to pirate soon the publisher can show damages if they have to delay.

After it's FAR too late to matter, and only upon getting paid for it.  So, I guess I'm glad we have more smut for the history books, but honestly fark Bolton to hell.

FlashHarry: After hearing just a few of these revelations, it's clear that Trump could have/should have been impeached for dozens of crimes.

And that was clear before these revelations.

Hard to justify the 'news' tag on this. Subby just get out of a 4 year coma?
