mikalmd: FlashHarry: After hearing just a few of these revelations, it's clear that Trump could have/should have been impeached for dozens of crimes.

Like I posted in another thread, all of congress has failed us by leaving him in office ..

Well, the Senate.

If he really wants help from China ask Mitch to set him up. He has ridiculous connections.

PsyLord: Remember this from the impeachment:

Trump "did not feel shamed by what the special counsel found, he did not feel deterred by what the special counsel found, he felt emboldened by escaping accountability," Schiff said. "For the very, very next day he is on the phone soliciting foreign interference" from Ukraine.

So basically, Bolton is providing more evidence of this.

It's hard to feel shame when you basically own one of the Congressional chambers.

Walker: No wonder Trump wanted this book stopped and said everything he ever said to Bolton was classified. So many scandals hitting in one day. For any other President revelations like all these we are getting today would be the end of his presidency, for us it's a Wednesday.

It sounds like Trump was offering bribes to any foreign power willing to help him win re-election. Only Ukraine was desperate enough to take the bribe because their back was against the wall.

You can't "scandal" this asshole into submission or resignation. It's another "add it to the pile" laundry list of shiat that would get any other president sacked, but because we operate this country on the honor system apparently, we lack the tools to deal with someone who shamelessly breaks the law and taunts us while doing so.

Blame the Senate Republicans (especially Moscow Mitch), who refused to even pretend to do his damn job, thereby giving him the green light to do whatever the fark he wants.

Hell isn't nice enough for them.

The Democrats share blame in this. They could have subpoenaed Bolton, Trump, Barr, or Pompeo, but they chose to play a game with the GOP Senate instead. After they realized that the GOP wasn't going to play the game by the rules the Dems should have gone back to the House and and gone nuts on subpoenas and lawsuits. Instead they tucked their tail between their legs and whimpered out "vote" as they scurried away back to the House.

Hasn't he and half the GOP been blaming China for the pandemic? Whatever he was hoping to get from China is pretty much up in smoke at this point.

As other articles have said, the only reason that China would help Trump is because Trump's incompetence gets them closer to becoming a financial superpower and taking over our position in the global market.

The reason they chose not to go that route is because they would be waiting on those subpoenas to be litigated until well after the election.

Don't be. He put this shiat in a book so he could profit off America's pillaging. He refused to testify before Congress where he could have done an ACTUAL good thing for the country.

Alley Rat: Forty-Three: I am still having trouble comprehending John Farking Bolton as the guy who does an actual good thing for the country, but here we are...

He wants to get paid for it. That's the issue I have with it.

You're not wrong.  I never cared for Bolton, and sincerely hope he never holds a position in government again, but if he can do anything to help come November, even if it means he gets to sell some books in the process, I am so completely out of farks to give right now that I can get over those issues.

Probably, but that shouldn't matter. They shouldn't stop seeking justice because it's too inconvenient, or might take too long. These people have information that is vital to the choices that most American's are going to make in November, they should pursue it and not stop. You know damn well that the GOP wouldn't let lawsuits stop them from their political investigations, why should Democrats stop in their criminal investigations.

I see the injunction stopping this book from getting published is working out nicely.

2020-06-17 4:50:11 PM
FTFA: "The book's sale has been held up for months by an extensive vetting process. Its release date was pushed back first from March to May, then to 23 June."

So, it seems like the white house either wants this book to get published a month or two before the election, or didn't think their cunning plan through.

They didn't stop seeking justice. They made a choice on having the impeachment this year or effectively not having an impeachment.  If every major witness would be slow-walked until after the election, how does that help voters before the election?
