make me some tea: The President of the United States is mentally ill.

That's what Bolton is telling us.

That's what he had the chance to say publicly under oath 6 months ago.  Now he wants us to pay him to say it.

2020-06-17 4:23:43 PM
I am still having trouble comprehending John Farking Bolton as the guy who does an actual good thing for the country, but here we are...

I guess we know how well those Trump/Xi negotiations went then.

No wonder Trump wanted this book stopped and said everything he ever said to Bolton was classified. So many scandals hitting in one day. For any other President revelations like all these we are getting today would be the end of his presidency, for us it's a Wednesday.

It passed in the Senate 20 days ago. Take that as you will if he just happened to get to it or it suddenly became a priority (could have even been considered for a pocket veto before this for all we know.)

Bolton says he was so alarmed by Trump's determination to do favors for autocrats such as Erdogan and Xi that he scheduled a meeting with Attorney General William P. Barr in 2019 to discuss his behavior. Bolton writes that Barr agreed he also was worried about the appearances created by the president's behavior.

Immediately after the meeting ended, Barr told Trump everything that had happened, then Barr destroyed the cure for AIDS, the vaccine for COVID-19, and burned down a Boeing hangar full of orphan children, disabled puppies, and the original US Constitution.

2020-06-17 4:24:46 PM

Bootleg: Actually, the begging might do more damage to Trump than the China part. They can justify asking China for help (Oh, he was just looking out for the country, trying to get the trade war fixed, etc), but him PLEADING for it is going to be a hard pill for the MAGA crowd to swallow.

/LOL, no it won't.

No, but you can bet that the next Project Lincoln ad to air on Fox & Friends during "Executive Time" is going to make Trump lose his shiat.

bluejeansonfire: This isn't worthy of the newsflash tag. Not even the news tag.

You can't "scandal" this asshole into submission or resignation. It's another "add it to the pile" laundry list of shiat that would get any other president sacked, but because we operate this country on the honor system apparently, we lack the tools to deal with someone who shamelessly breaks the law and taunts us while doing so.

Blame the Senate Republicans (especially Moscow Mitch), who refused to even pretend to do his damn job, thereby giving him the green light to do whatever the fark he wants.

Hell isn't nice enough for them.

Drudge has been pretty mocking of Trump for a while now.

It would be hilarious if Pompeo's "full of shiat" gets him thrown under the bus on his getting caught using the State Department as his personal servants and meeting with people to help with a 2024 presidential run.

"So that would mean that if he wrote a book and the book gets out that he's broken the law. And I would think that he'd have criminal problems. I hope so," the president said.

Trump obviously doesn't realize it is explicitly illegal to classify information because it is embarrassing to Trump (or anyone else).

One of the drawbacks of an "America First" ethos is that the definition of "America" is not fixed, and can become vanishingly small until you get to l'etat c'est moi. Before long you have l'etat begging foreign leaders to save moi's skin at any price.

And that's the point when Bolton should have smothered Barr with his farking mustache. Doing favors for dictators is apparently peachy keen, unless it might look bad to too many people.

2020-06-17 4:30:26 PM
Remember this from the impeachment:

Trump "did not feel shamed by what the special counsel found, he did not feel deterred by what the special counsel found, he felt emboldened by escaping accountability," Schiff said. "For the very, very next day he is on the phone soliciting foreign interference" from Ukraine.

So basically, Bolton is providing more evidence of this.

Shocker.

He could have, and should have, testified.  This is true.  In normal times that should have been the proper thing to do, but realistically, no matter what happened during the impeachment process, there was no possibility, whatsoever, that there would have been 67 votes in the Senate for removal.  If Mr. Moustache gets to sell some books in a way that also makes it more likely that Trump actually gets removed from office come January, I can live with that.

It would be even more hilarious if this butterflied into Kobach winning the GOP nomination for Kansas's senate seat (since Pompeo didn't file for the primary), and faring just as well the last time he ran for statewide office.

I believe that. Trump's MO for decades is basically let one scandal distract from another, especially if the scandal he is trying to distract relates to his family.  He is a one trick pony in lifts.
