Lizard chair, pear lemon, bear Lincoln. Hmm. I'm going to need some yarn, multiple photographs, some newspaper clippings, and a boatload of pushpins to put this one together...

I don't feel generically avoiding human impact on earth is a particularly compelling  cause. If we were having neutral impact or even beneficial, that doesn't inspire a lot of angst. Now you could assert that our impact tends to be overwhelmingly the other direction and I wouldn't argue. But that is a separate discussion and aim.

Every living being impacts the earth. Trying to avoid that fact would be foolishness.

Huge areas of land are frozen tundra or barren desert. How much of the useful land are we occupying?

So, half the surface is ice, rock, or sand. Swell.

The climate has been warming, so the tundra is less frozen and in the past some deserts have been greener in warmer weather.
