"Many of the things that he has given clues about and talked on 4Chan and other forums have really proven to be true," Greene said.

I'm not worried as much about a Q believer in Congress as I am a 4Channer.

This should be highly entertaining.

2020-06-11 8:37:14 AM
Well, first public admission of it.

Q anon people have serious mental problems.

2020-06-11 9:23:39 AM
At this point, I don't see much difference between a Q culter, and a Trump culter

2020-06-11 9:28:48 AM
Finally.  Now maybe we can have some fact-driven activity out of Congress.

This nutjob is going to be Tom Cotton's running mate in 2024, isn't she?

The Atlantic had a pretty good/scary feature on QAnon recently.  It's a bit of a read, but well worth it when you have the time.

The slope gets slipperier everyday.

There is no salvaging the Republican party at this point. If Trump and the GOP get hammered this fall then you can guarantee the zealots who remain are going to double-down on their hate-rhetoric and obstruction to pull the party even further to the right.

What a farking idiot

can we just go ahead and give the southern states the succession they want?

Our only hope is for the rest of us to yank the Overton Window back toward the left.

" QAnon believers have been charged with two murders, a terrorist incident, and two child abduction plots related to their beliefs, among other crimes. The FBI considers QAnon a potential source of domestic terrorism."

Nicely done, Republicans. This will surely trigger us Libs real good!

Won't she realize pretty quickly once she arrives that the Qanon thing is bogus? Seeing the day-to-day workings of government will reveal just how impossible Q's claims are.

Or am I being too optimistic?

2020-06-11 11:48:03 AM
I the DNC is smart they will pour a LOT of money into this race, run a bunch of q-anon attack ads etc.  Not because they have a real hope of winning, but this is exactly the sort of extremist candidate that, if you highlight, and if you can tie to the larger Republican party, can become symbolic and affect races far outside her district.   Think Christine "I'm not a witch" O'Donnell in Delaware who threw a spotlight on just how amateurish and utterly unvetted the Tea Party Candidates really were and helped kill off the "brand"

Or Todd "legitimate rape" Akin who helped everyone see the undercurrent of virulent misogyny that ran through the entire GOP and its core priciples

Doing a full "get a load of THIS guy (girl)"  would help highlight how far the fringe weirdos hae infiltrated the mainstream gop

Way too optimistic. Seeing how bogus the claims are that the entire govt and staff are in on the conspiracy will prove Q right.

How shiatty were the alternatives for people to say "We think this conspiracy loon is the best person to represent us" ?

I'm worried that all of the conservatives fleeing the GOP and taking up residence in the Democratic party is going to end up shifting it to the right.  I think they realize that the Republican brand is going to be toxic for a generation and they will be unable to get any support from non-crazy voters.

so how many of her constituents know that she ran on a policy platform of executing her political opponents under completely fabricated pretext. There's certainly no question about how unhinged she is now.

A new challenger to Gohmert and GasPedal for "Dumbest Representative."  Gym Jordan's endorsement only helps to competition.
I hope her campaign is an opportunity to spotlight, nationally, the failures of our education system to identify those who cannot be trusted to think.

Greene has also promoted conspiracy theories about the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting, proposing in social-media posts that the shooting was staged or somehow covered up by the FBI to promote gun control.

And THAT is conclusive proof this lady is a loon. NOTHING seems to prompt sufficient outrage in the US to get even the most rudimentary gun control policies in place. If Sandy Hook didn't do it, nothing will.  FBI ain't got time for that.

Does it really matter? How many Democrats claim they're socialists. and does that stop the GOP from labeling every Democrat a socialist?

I have to agree.  I just don't see how she wold be any worse than someone like Gym Jordan, Louie Gohmert, Devin Nunes, or any other of a long list of past, present, or future right wingers.  They will vote pretty much Republican party line on anything, and will rarely introduce legislation that has any chance of going anywhere unless Republicans control all branches of government.

Hopefully, that era is finally coming to an end this year.

Not worse individually. But, the corrosive Overton slide is cumulative.  It means that in 40-50 other races, a "liberate the victims of Comet Pizza" loon can be inspired to run and legitimately say "I'm no nuttier than Greene, and she's in Congress, getting lots of TV time, and the government hasn't completely collapsed, so what harm could I do?"  And then you end up with a batshiat caucus.

Ain't it great that the only qualifications to run the country are age and getting a bunch of rubes to vote for you?
