Awkward statements that aren't really helping the cause: It's The White Thing To Do(tm).

Saying you have a black friend: It's The White Thing To Do(tm).

Equating looters and protestors: It's The White Thing To Do(tm).

Yes, but did he really do it if he didn't tell everyone around him and blast it all over social media?

El Brujo: As if crossfitters weren't insufferable enough.

One of my wife's friends got into crossfit and paleo at the same time.  A group of us went to an Indian restaurant and she had a billion questions for the staff about what on the menu was paleo.  They were probably thinking "Lady, I've seen people starve.  Fark your diet."

2020-06-10 3:17:49 PM
He was quoted as saying "Did you know I invented cross-fit? I mean, it's stupid hard and not everyone can do it. You really have to have dedication to follow through. But you will see results. Also what's with this protest bullshiat about #BlackLivesMatter. I just want to get to my local crossfit (which, did I mention, I started) to get in some muscle ups before my paleo-keto dinner plate is ready."

It's hard to figure out what happened from the very poor article, but it seems like he tweeted literally one word, a poor attempt at a joke.

I wouldn't call that 'inflammatory', just dumb.

It's actually Gradius III, and you have to use the L and R buttons on the SNES controller in place of left and right, otherwise it blows up your ship.

I didn't RTFA, but I heard the story on NPR this morning. The final straw was leaked audio of him on a call with various gym owners commenting that neither him nor any of his employees was "mourning" Floyd's death.

He's basically made a point of mocking and demeaning Floyd's death across multiple channels for no apparent reason other than that he's a huge dick.

I was incredulous, angry, and overly emotional

This is the part I don't get about people like him. Why? Why do they get so worked up over some announcement of something that doesn't even involve them? Overly emotional? Why does he feel any emotion whatsoever when reading a tweet by the "Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation"? Does that institute hold some lofty position in his mind?

If you look at that tweet, the first thing that jumps out at you is the "Racism is a public health issue" line. Anyone who takes issue with that tweet is going to come across as a racist because it will be obvious what triggered them was the stance against racism. He's trying to play it off like what bothered him was their 'modeling' a solution but there is no large text saying anything about that in their tweet. I find it highly unlikely that is what caught his attention in this tweet.

GoodHomer: He's a pretty big libertarian, which should tell you all you need to know.

Tell's all you need to know like what?
Like that he's a massive Trump tool, but has just enough of a glimmer of awareness to know that Trump is beyond immoral and history will judge Trump's supporters as people lacking even a shred of honor, so the "libertarian" hides behind that label as a witless and self-delusional attempt to distance themselves from the evil they help perpetuate all the while being without the awareness to see that anyone with a half-ounce of functioning grey matter sees through the transparent "libertarian" charade and recognizes libertarians as just spineless Trumpers"? You mean it tells me that?

Glassman is a replicant created by orthopedic surgeons to keep their business booming.  His programmed retirement age is near so no big deal for them.

2020-06-10 3:42:22 PM
Huh. I didn't know crossfit was a company. I thought it was just a fitness thing, like jogging or swimming. "I'm going crossfitting" sounds kinda stupid though.

And they replaced Glassman with Dave Castro.  Call them a low-science civilization, because that company has yet to discover optics.

Yes, it's basically a guy who said "what if we exercise, but do it faster and with really shiatty form", formed a company to promote this, and got rich. Oh, and he's a replicant, as I've mentioned.

Like the death of George Floyd?

He wasn't "overly emotional", though I bet he was angry and incredulous. Context is what's needed. A business owner who's been forced to lose money for months due to A Public Health Crisis see's the suffering he just experienced cast aside and he's told it's because Racism is a Public Health Crisis.

The dude was being obvious, he doesn't care about George Floyd, he didn't know him. He did care about the business that directly effected him.

You know, what ever people choose to do, more power to them, and a private company should be able to fire and hire whomever they want in my opinion. I do, however, think this dude made a mistake in caving to the mob, issuing a forced and obviously false apology instead of just standing up for his own thoughts - he has a right to them, and being more concerned about his daily life than that of a person in another state hundreds of miles away, does not make him a bad person imho.

This moron said "I was trying to stick it to the @IHME_UW for their invalidated models resulting in needless, economy-wrecking, life-wrecking lockdown..."

The guy doesn't think the lockdown was necessary, because money is more important to him that facts or science. He's happy if more Americans die than need to so long as he has a profit. Dude can go fark himself, and not just because he's a racist shiathead.

Lost a friend to crossfit. In 4 years she had five surgeries for various torn and wrecked ligaments and joints. Her surgeon told her he would not work on her anymore because of her crossfitidiotcy addiction.  She is also paleo and organic bullshiat person. And an alkie.  I told her none of that means shiat when menopause hits .
