2000 came down to 500 or so votes in Florida. I predict Trump loses in a landslide and refuses to acknowledge it, refuses to leave the White House, and takes a vote-fraud case, itself fraudulent, to the Supreme Court. And then Kavanaugh writes the majority opinion in Trump's favor after 15 Miller Lites.

No, but I think the mess that the next government will uncover about this one's shady activities for the last few years are going to take decades to really sort through.

The Brooks Brothers Riot of 2000 will be replaced by the 5XL Hawaiian Shirt Riot in every state where vote-by-mail ballots are counted.

If Trump isn't defeated in a rout that makes Reagan over Mondale look like a nail-biter there will be Meal Team Six "ballot authenticity testers" everywhere.

Any Supreme Court justice appointed by Trump will need to recuse himself

You might turn out to be right.  But I don't think Roberts particularly likes Trump.  I don't see him siding with that sort of legal shenanigan.

I guess that would depend largely upon how many self-proclaimed just don't feel "inspired enough" by Biden to vote.

They'll question the validity of the result, no matter how decisively they lost.

You see these protests over the last few weeks?

Compared to what will happen if there's even a hint of Republicans trying to steal another election, they'll seem tiny.

Probably, but hopefully we've learned our lesson and bulldoze through any biatching right wing criminals have. We fark their feelings, dismiss their complaints and frog march the orange garbage out of the white house. Hopefully we can get some shovy cops to bash his skull on the ground and against the wall and on the squad car a few hundred times.

Roberts slammed Kavanaugh pretty hard for his dissent opinion during that Religious Freedom case last week.
I wouldn't count on him backing putting Judge Lowenbrau in charge of anything.

A lot of timeline jokes on here the last couple years, but I still remember that Tuesday night in 2000 around 1 am or so when they flipped the projection for Florida. I distinctly had the feeling of two paths diverging and felt the sick certainty that I was along for the ride on the darker trail.

He will decide which states voted fairly and argue that he should be awarded the electoral votes of California et al. as a result of their bias against him and allowing mail in voting.

I guess we'll see what other Republicans sat at that point.

If Trump has the new Whitehouse wall still up in November that would be a sign his team anticipates some serious opposition and fights after the election..

I won't be surprised if we in certain areas we see right-wing gun enthusiasts set up outside polling stations as close as they are legally allowed to be with the self-proclaimed vague goals of things like 'preventing voter fraud', 'ensuring fair elections', or just 'providing security'.

On that note ...

Fair warning, t(R)eason-party assholes: We already have checkpoints at the borders.

Wouldn't be hard to seal off, seize federal assets (we paid for em anyway) and take issue with any bullshiat.

Does anyone really think the G-5 would rather invite and support Russia over the New California Republic, should they decide to add a member?  UN Security Council could be tricky, but it'd be fun to see it debated.  Etc.

Vote blue. Blow the bastard out.  Hope for good, but plan for bad.

Because of Moscow Mitch unwillingness to fund vote by mail, which states depend on to make sure it happens, the pandemic will make sure the election is a total joke.

I bet not even 15% of americans will be able to vote in person and the vote by mail will be a complete shiatshow... from ballots never received, to ballots ''lost'' to the time needed to count them (days), due to the low number of votes in person, mail ballots will be crucial... we wont know the election results before 1-2-3 days after the election and of course Trump will claim victory and if the results dont show that, he'll say its all a fraud by the democrats with mailed ballots.

It will be for the history books.

If the Republican Party has learned anything in the last 30 years it is that there is absolutely no price they have to pay for unconstitutional, seditious, illegal and outrageous partisan behavior.

Their base whips up into the frenzy while the profit-based media plays "opinions differ"  and refusing to commit to any objective set of facts.  The playing field tilts to the Republican's favor to the point where Democrats have to get 3-10% more votes just to win.

So yeah.  shiatshow.

That brought us to the "We covered our asses" administration. I think the biggest difference between that and the "I take no responsibility at all" administration is that the former was actually headed by a criminal mastermind in Darth Cheney. Dime store Boss Nass can't do shiat without broadcasting it right down to the patterns his rage-spittle leaves everywhere he starts flapping his noise tube.

This will end  of two ways:

1) A blowout for Biden.  There will be a landslide, for Biden
2) Trump wins by 1 EV.

I am now at 70% for #1.

If the economy turns into a 'V' Trump might pull it off.  But i think we will not only see a 'W' but we will see someother crazy crap that will make Trump 100% screwed.

I have been wrong before.. but the numbers im seeing in polls are better then clinton at this time in 2016, so yea.  I thought the debates might make or break Biden... but at this point, i do not think they will matter.  Trump is screwing up.  If his rallies start having covid outbreaks... oh boy

(I think covid will slow in summer, but tis not gone.)

During the recount it dwindled down to about 300...

EXCEPT

The truth is much different.

See, in 2000 Florida threw out 180,000 votes.  HALF of them were black voters despite them only being only 11% of the population.

Or, in 2000 if you were white there was a 1 in 50 chance your vote got thrown out.  If you were black it was 1 in 6 thrown out.

It became a literal federal civil rights case and Florida settled.  For comparison, in 2012 they tossed about 32,000 votes.

So, IF Florida didn't violate the black voters' civil rights, Gore wins Florida by tens of thousands of votes.

True, but that's only because of all the crimes the GOP commit and honestly, how can anyone expect them to be held responsible for their own actions that they do over and over again to the point of requiring actual federal election laws and civil rights cases to stop them?
