I remember seeing Obama speak on New Year's Even in Ames, Iowa in 2007.  I went into it with a very cynical mind (I was a Kucinich guy, so sue me, I loved his platform).  He completely won me over that night.

ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha: Nothing ages worst than old web design.

I would add a caveat. I really like how clutter free the old sites wre (not you Geocities). Far less ads, too. Something like Facebook is covered with crap these days. I liked it better the old way.

You just gotta have the right extensions.  I haven't seen an ad on Facebook for years.

No but see he wasn't absolutely perfect and didn't accomplish every single thing he said he wanted to, so obviously both sides are bad and you should therefore vote Republican.

My gods you're a horrible person. Adjusting and processing information to formulate a new world view. WHO DOES THAT?!

There is a shocking lack of vitriol in those comments?  The internet can't have changed that much since then, can it?

I remember hearing his speech at the 2004 DNC.  I knew he was going to be President someday.  I didn't think it'd be just 4 years later.

/Shameful confession time:  I was leaning towards McCain in 2008 because I didn't think Obama was ready with only a few years in the Senate and I had been fooled by McCain's "maverick moderate" bullshiat.  Then he chose Palin as a running mate.

Isn't 2008 a good two years after MySpace became irrelevant? Did it really last that long?

What's a MySpace?

Easily one of the most epically pulled-off political-entrance choreographies ever.

Anyone that watched that speech remembered it and him.

Conversely, Trump had

Alaskan Yoda: What's a MySpace?

It's like a MyPillow, but instead of shredded polyester foam, it's filled with infinite suck from which no happiness can escape.

It's basically a snuggly black hole of despair.

Umm...Hate to be the one to tell you this but wearing a red hat in public Is a bad idea, even if it has a posistive message on it. People are automatically going to assume you're a Trumper and treat you accordingly. Sure, people up close that you explain the joke to might have a chuckle or roll their eyes, but that's not going to keep fast food cooks from spitting in your burger or hooligans from keying your car in the Walmart parking lot....be careful out there.

First item I saw was "Robots Attack!" I'd vote for Obama again on that issue alone.

I don't miss MySpace one bit.

Same here. I cast my vote for him that year (my first time in many elections that I voted for a major party candidate, preferring instead to research all candidates and vote for the one that I felt would make the best President regardless of party or what media and polls said had a chance to win). But it wasn't me voting for Obama, or even against McCain. I voted against Sarah Palin. I knew that someone like her extremist End Times beliefs (the Third Wave of the Holy Spirit aka "Joel's Army" goes well beyond mere Dominionism or even Christian Reconstructionism ― they don't want to force the End Times prophecies to come true by any means necessary [they're the Jesus Camp people ― so extremist is this sect that the Assemblies of God denomination from which they sprang, which is itself heavily steeped in both Dominionism and the even more extremist Christian Reconstructionism, actually kicked the Third Waver churches {including Sarah's Wasilla Church} out of their denomination for being too extremist even for them!!]) must not be allowed one heartbeat of an elderly twice-melanoma-survivor away from the nuclear football.

Remember how the Dominionists went into a frothing rage when Obama won, and they started calling him the Liberal "Messiah" and "Anointed One" (Hannity called him that when taking his speech about the previous administraton's tax plan incredibly out of context in a video I've posted several times before on Fark) and many were suggesting that he was the Antichrist (or "Antchrist" ― lulz)? That's because they actually did have their own literally Anointed One:
A Witch Hunt at Sarah Palin's church! (Thomas Muthee VIDEO)
Youtube MAWM7E_WMfo
I have this cued up to the anointing part, but do watch the whole thing when you get a chance. That's Pastor Thomas Muthee, who was literally a witch hunter and Third Waver pastor from (are you sitting down? Be sure to disable any Irony Meters in range to avert a catastrophic meltdown) Kenya, doing the anointing.

Earlier he describes the Seven Mountains Mandate common among Dopminionists in general, that (their kind of) Christian is mandated by God to take over seven "mountains" or areas of society. Now go to any Bible search engine of your choice and find the two-word phrase "seven mountains." At least in the KJV, it appears in only one verse. Funny they should choose that imagery for their movement.
