holdmybones: RepoManTSM: San Junipero is my go to piece of media I watch when life get's too overwhelming. It didn't get the best reviews but I really enjoyed Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too for being a Disney Channel movie is made by Black Mirror (or vice versa) but I really don't think of Nose Dive as a feel good episode.

Heh. I was just texting my buddy that San Junipero is my favorite episode. It isn't farked up but it makes me happy, sad, nostalgic, and just morose enough...

My favorite is still "Hang the DJ".

Eh. The quote is from the creator and the ad is from marketing. Who knows if he was involved. Regardless, the ad is amazing.

Most of the series is the opposite of feel good.

Laikabot: The episode about the robot dogs that hunt and kill people is creepy to me because they remind me those dog robots that are being made/tested right now. I think Boston Dynamics makes them.

The Boston Dynamics robots were the direct inspiration for that episode.

I really enjoyed that one, but wasn't sure if the ending was happy or sad. The AIs are disposable, but their sacrifice leads to a connection in the 'real' world.

My favorite is probably Hated in the Nation. It blends an enjoyable buddy-cop narrative with just the right amount of the Black Mirror universe.

Clint Mansell's score for that episode is wonderful.

I hope season 6 is better than season 5, they were terrible.

Probably my second favorite. Two of the only handful of happy endings.

I also liked white bear and white Christmas, which are decidedly not happy.

Invincible: Watched ep1 of Years and Years. Really blurs the line between black mirror episode and real life. Scared to watch a second episode.

Worth the watch.

Apropos of nothing here's my favorite Charlie Brooker moment:

Big Fat Quiz Of The Year - David Mitchell Rant About Dancing

/For those unaware Mr. Brooker is the creator and show-runner of Black Mirror. He also wrote the pig fuc*er episode from series 1, which was a brilliant bit of TV and made for some very awkward office conversations the day after it aired.

I bet that there was going to be an episode of, "wot if corona virus but like it was electronic and robots, maybe VR somehow?" but they canceled it when the 5G lunacy took off.
