I am so sorry that the family had to go through this and hope the assholes get caught.

But this is just about the most Forks thing ever:

The family called 911 for help. And in the meantime, four Forks High School students who were in the area used their chainsaw to help clear the road for the family, Minks said.

Forks really is remote.   You look at one of those maps that shows lights from space?

Forks is a tiny purple dot.

And they have woods where no one can hear you scream.

That said, what the hell was the family doing not staying at home per the Governor's order??

Dispersed camping is allowed in Natl Forests now, maybe other places as well.

As they were leaving the store, the family was confronted by people in several vehicles who kept asking if they were from "Antifa" - the left-wing political activist group known for its sometimes destructive protest tactics.

I'm so farking sick of the delusional minds of conservatives thinking there is a shadowy organized group called Antifa.
It does not exists you farkwads.

I would hope every American would be against fascists, but it looks like that's just not the 'true American' way anymore.

The Clallam County Sheriff's Office is investigating, but at this time they do not have any evidence of who may have confronted the family or if those people were armed.
Investigators say they hope there may be surveillance video from the store parking lot they can use to identify the people.

So they just need someone to...squeal.

Like I said above, it's the most Forks thing ever.   Even on the Oregon coast, if we're going somewhere, especially in winter or big wind storms, we do often toss a chainsaw in the back of the truck.  Trees falling across roads isn't that uncommon.

Yes. and guns... And old stogy loggers who don't like people from 'inland'. It's just a ways up the road from me and I never stop there. The last time I rode thru there, Pre-twilight, i had to fight my way out a bar because I "weren't from around there, Huh?" They have the freedom of the Olympic NP to do all kinds of things that might just be against somebody's rules somewhere. Ya just wanna get involved. "Nick on the Rocks", a geology show with the head of Geology at CWU.   He spends a lot of time around Yakima.  The parts I'd like to see.   I have traveled all over WA (and lived there for a bit) but I always just barreled through Yakima.   There some seriously interesting geology around there.

Red Mountain is really interesting as well...and not too far away.

Just imagine all the water it took from melted glaciers to create this:

I loved living in Montana. Sure the grasslands and prairies were boring on the east side. But the mountains and sheer glory I lived in sight of and got to visit in western Montana was glorious... imagine my surprise getting a jobsite for a week In Yakima. No, because you're mad that people risked their lives to protest racism.

The family here had no business doing what was basically a luxury, and coming from an area that has numerous cases of the virus to somewhere with literally zero.   It's exactly the way I feel about people from King County coming out here.  You were told to stay the fark home.

You know there's a difference, right?    Why be on the wrong side of things so much?   You got Reagan, Bush, Trump.  Try to enjoy the destruction you were part and parcel to a bit before things swing back to the left, k?
