When a guy whose specialty is sneaking in your secure compound at night, and I'm talking to you, immoral assholes out there with secure compounds, when a guy whose specialty is sneaking in your secure compound at night and putting a bullet in your skull, tells you to knock it the fark off, you might want to listen.
Especially since he isn't taking orders from you at all.

Let's see how Donnie responds, and how much flinging mud on officers with actual records for more than just playing lawyer gets the rank and file on his side...

How'd he get over the fence?

McRaven is a solid citizen.

Pretty good commencement speech he gave at UT Austin

There's not a doubt in my mind that a lot of these retired generals are speaking to non retired generals and speaking for them.

Let's see how long it takes for the Trump trolls to turn on him...all it took was a racist sociopath to get into the White House for them to suddenly stop caring about the military's opinion.

A good bet. The general community is pretty close knit even if they don't all agree with each other all the time.

From the end of the article:  "Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) said that she agreed with Mattis, adding that she is "struggling" with deciding if she will vote for Trump in November."

I mean, sure, by all means, let's see how this plays out before you make your decision there Lisa.  "Yes, the ship hit an iceberg, and sure it *seems* like we're taking on water at an alarming rate.  But, you know, I really need to weigh my options before committing to the lifeboat."

It wasn't constitutionally right either.

It's almost as if history will judge trump harshly and many public figures want to be counted as being opposed to a president who gassed his own people.

Who was the Republican who said she was uncertain if she could vote for him this fall?  Because instead of speaking to her or being contrite, his Weeners was to declare that he would help campaign against her when she ran for re-election in 2022.

If you did that to me after I expressed doubts about you and wanted you to be less of an asshole, I'd consider that a declaration of war and end any and all support for you.  Hell, if you did it to a friend of mine, you'd be my enemy.

But I'm not a Trump dick sucking Republican with no self-esteem.

She will.

She already cast her vote, and the whole nation watched.

Trump could be learning, the hard way, that a "code red" isn't just a soda from the folks at Mountain Dew.

Why am I starting to get the feeling that Trump would be a first round candidate for a Code Red if the military wasn't so professional?

Well, that's it. Now she's seriously on the fence about voting for Donald Trump.

It's time for some of these military officers to physically join the protesters; to literally walk among them and participate in the protests.

We only need a single Air Force full bird Colonel to make a rather bold move.  Or a Marine helo pilot.

That's awesome. Years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Maggie Martin. She could not possibly remember me, but, she was so impressive, I'll never forget her.

Trump will do his usual: Come up an alliterative, bullying name, like Cave-in McNaven, find some way to insult his military career and will try to make it about his popularity bring better. The shiat is so predictable now, even 4th graders can do a better job.

It's classified. He could tell you but then he'd have to kill you.

It doesn't necessarily have to be alliterative... I can see him using "Craven McRaven," but only if am aide suggests it. I doubt that the word "craven" is in his vocabulary.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to trepan myself and wash my brain with soap and water.

They are all retirement age, AKA high risk for Covid death. We need them around for their knowledge and experience, not dying on the front line.
