From a photography standpoint, how does this work?  The scale is beyond my comprehension, but where is the light coming from and wouldn't errant photons muck it up?

(Yes, I realize that a stray photon hitting a molecule would be like dropping a cue ball out of a 747 and hitting a tuna sandwich.)

came home one night after work.  My room mates were into a good evening of LSD.  The lights were off, all of them sitting around the TV.  Asked them what they were doing.  Their response, "watching ants fight".

1600fps isnt very fast. MIT has a camera that does 1 Trillion fps.
