He was great.  I remember watching him fling playing cards at watermelon like they were throwing stars....got them to go in fairly deep, IIRC.

I wonder what his book "Cards as Weapons" is going for on Amazon right now?  You Tube has a number of clips of him slicing up watermelons with cards over the years.  Late night talk shows, "Mythbusters," but I'm going to pull from "Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants" again:
