They can open movie theaters if they want but there's the little issue of Hollywood not releasing any movies.

I'm sure there will be a steady stream of conservative films for people to watch.

Sure, why not. Gallons of soda and hot buttered popcorn could be a cure... might as well find out.

Let's reopen amusement parks too - maybe high speed projectile vomiting will eject the virus from your body.

How about a movie title thread to celebrate the pending disaster?

I'll start with:

Dumb and Dumber

I noticed that, they have triple the new daily cases as Michigan, and about to pass our total before the weekend.

Yeah, but it's nowhere near as fatal as people have been talking about. Now, pneumonia this year, that's been a doozie, but no one needs to worry about catching that.

Well, if we had a competent governor or senators, things would be better.

Actually, maybe we just need a more competent voting public in Florida.

They will do rewatch parties like watch all the star war movies again on the big screen at deals to get people to go again. It will take some time but Disney Springs even with a lot of the stuff still closed is slowly working up more and more people going.

Well, if you're too good at the job, they tend to sideline ya... by means such as making your vote disappear, 'forgetting' boxes of ballots, that kind of thing.

Don't forget to factor in the whole vote suppression deal.  It has weight enough to shape entire national futures.

Statistically, the number of cases is pretty flat, but hospital visits are down, and deaths have dropped dramatically. There was a big peak in reported positives on June 2, but June 1 was very low, so it's probably partly an artifact of late reporting.

Most of Florida has been open for weeks, and the predicted massive increase in cases definitely didn't happen.

Chicken little says what?

The pandemic is a nothing burger.  Some Florida counties have fewer people in the hospital now than they did this time last year.  You were lied to about the severity of this.

COVID deaths are being reported as pneumonia a lot, because of the lack of testing. Every state didn't suddenly get 10 times the cases on their own.

My local sports bar, which had been carry out only since this started, reopened Friday for patio* service.  They are now completely closed indefinitely after a cook tested positive.  This will not end well.

I had to go to Walmart in Chiefland today (yes, it was as terrifying as it sounds, even in normal times) and probably 1/100 people were wearing masks. Stark contrast to almost everyone wearing a mask at Publix in Gainesville.

I may have said this to you before but if you're a used-to-be Juggalo in the Gainesville area there's a significant chance that we know eachother.

I want to support my friend's bar so bad, see all the other regulars. It's legit my favorite place.

But there's no way in hell I'm going out socially for at least 2 more weeks, maybe more depending on the numbers. DeSantis is a shill and a liar, and too many people are too careless.

Well, lesson time.  Pneumonia is not a disease, it is an infection in lungs.  One does not catch pneumonia, but catches the disease that causes pneumonia.  Coronavirus causes pneumonia, influenza causes pneumonia, any germ, virus or bacteria that causes an infection in the lungs is causing pneumonia.  So when they say someone dies from Covid-19 and pneumonia, Covid-19 killed them, pneumonia was a symptom.

I have no more patience for people who are not willing to look things up, and educate themselves.  Instead say stupid things like, "Well, how do we know they died from pneumonia, and not Covid-19?"  Well the answer is simple, without Covid-19, or any other condition, they would not have had pneumonia.  It is like saying, "Well, how do we know he didn't die from being anemic, and not the gun shot to his chest?"

Considering all the protest and traveling going on, does it really matter?
I think we're over covid-19.

The riots have killed more black people than the original incident. And COVID has killed more black people than the riots. And heart disease kills more than covid.
But people are continuing to be fat and marching, risking their lives to maybe but maybe not improve the thing that's not very likely to kill them at all.

Can't be a worse plan than hydrochloroquine or injecting bleach.

FTFY
If someone dies because they had both heart disease and Covid, which do you classify it as?
