Please, think of Jeff in these difficult times, though I'm suspicious that Amazon is really a GoFundMe for Jeff.

Something something worker-exploiting capitalist swine feeding the maws of blinkered, fat, consumerist American nitwits.

Meh, it's going to suck anyway. I've never wanted to buy the crap on Prime Day anyway. Disappointment day is going to be a week

We let our prime membership lapse. I try to shop at local stores to help them out, now more than ever. Fark Jeff Bezos. He can't even pay all his employees a livable wage and treat them like humans as he rakes in nearly $9 million dollars an hour.

I found plenty of great deals and built most of a new computer out of them.  Of course none of them were on Amazon and most of them were on newegg but fear of Amazon lead to some great deals.

I understand the sentiment; I don't know how a person shopping locally (or small businesses) can ensure that employees are treated better than those who work for Amazon. There's a lot of terrible small business owners who intentionally underpay/short their employees. Amazon gets publicity because they are huge. A small business likely goes without any similar oversight.

Yup.  The last few Prime Days looked like they just Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V'd their normal flash deals page to the home page.  Off brand electronics, sketchy "miracle" health and beauty products, little cutesy knick knacks for around the house.  All with the "regular" price jacked up but the actual left the same or close to it in the name of being a sale.

Last time I bought something I think it was one of their 7" fire tablets when they had the non adware infested version for like $35.  Don't think I ever even charged it, used it for an hour or so and it's been sitting on the night stand ever since.

Still worth it though, as I moved over to Amazon photo from Dropbox, and realized since I technically still have a Fire tablet linked to my account, the base tier included with Prime has double the non photo storage with unlimited photo storage, which is fine with me.

Lot longer than two days.  Ordered a few things over a week ago - scheduled to not even ship till Monday.

Well, those 50 gallon barrels of lube take up a lot of room on the truck and they are kind of heavy.

Hey! I tried making it easy and ordered ten 5 gallon buckets. They can split that up!

Every shop in my town is hanging on by a thread. Why would I shop on amazon? Ever?

I know because I talk with them and know how they live. If the clerk in my bakery or hardware store can't pay her bills, I know something is wrong. When you shop locally, you can meet more people and get a real sense of how your neighbours are really doing.

Just a few weeks ago many Farkers were saying that any business that didn't have the ability to survive 90 days of closure wasn't a viable business anyway.
