This whole thing is incredibly sad.

Reggie Watts is awesome.

History shows humans suck at learning from the past but, I hope so much change is coming. Not holding my breath though.

Reggie seems to be the quintessential easy-going music dude, so seeing him fall apart is heartbreaking.
And you may not like James Cordon, but at least he has compassion.

I can lose it like that talking about happy moments. Like trying to congratulate a college grad or newlyweds at a reception.

At the end of the video, Reggie says, "I'm so glad to hear from Dyson".

This is Michael Eric Dyson's segment that preceded.

Ya know, speaking of late-night CBS celeb gab-fests, it's too bad Craig Ferguson isn't still the host. He's always had a great skill for smart, insightful, proper monologues when the situation calls for it.

I haven't been keeping real track, but Trevor Noah's post from a few days ago comes closest from what I've seen.

/Corden is a hack, Watts is cool.

The difference between now and all of history before now is that we now have a global telecommunications network across which data is both transportable and duplicatable quickly, cheaply, and easily.

Part of why history repeated so often is because most of the people living through it aren't aware of the cycle because of lack of access to the information. That is changing.

Unfortunately that information is in control of so many people putting their own spin on what is real that it is so hard to know up from down.  The media will keep it enflamed for ratings until something new comes along then it will repeat the cycle once they believe it will feel fresh again meanwhile the damage is done on so many levels and nothing gets fixed.  It is not really in anyone's monetary interest to change things and unfortunately money seems to be the end all.
