On the plus side, we could shortly have a new superhero in the world.

So the world has gotten tired of human's making a mess of it and is trying to reset the clock.

I for one welcome our David Puddy overlords.

There seems to be an election year/Olympic year curse in our society. Every four years we seem to have a bad year overall for society and for me personally. Have to find a way to reverse the curse.

That really sucks.

They're not so bad. But diseased, vile ticks? If it's glowing orange just leave it alone - unless you've got a disease cure or antibiotics.

I'm a tic living in Italy, and I don't see any way we take over.

I guess I'm just a hopeless Roman tic.

...sniff... I submitted this with a much funnier headline.

However, things could be worse. They could have found them in the Chernobyl exclusion zone.

I'm surprised that they don't thrive on Vodka and Krokadil.

Why not go further with Debutante Mutant Hapkido Ticks?

At least you'll get a comic book out of it.

If you're a kid in Siberia, rampaging ticks are just another terrible thing going on in your life.

Poor frozen bloody kids.

What do mutant ticks and the Trump family have in common?

One is an opportunistic parasite that lives on the blood of its unwitting hosts and the other lives in tall grass.

That seems to be my timing, too. I'll go about 3 years making decent money, having a great girlfriend, etc and then fate just pulls the rug from under me and it takes about a year to recover. And the cycle begins again.

Could you (or someone) please respond to my post again? Seems like Earthlink changed something and my "Known Spam Filter" got reset to highest level, which automatically kills most email notifications. It's now back at rational levels, so I should be able to get Fark emails again. Thanks.

So, did we just head right past the murder hornets and land on mutant ticks or are the hornets going to swing back around for a flyby???

Even small changes in average temperatures have an enormous effect on biomes.  Bacteria, viruses, fungi, and even insects.  The shorter the life span and greater the numbers the greater the mutations.

Love your possums, they eat ticks as their favorite food.

Invasive, mutant, bloodsucking, parasitic insects.

So...Democrats?
