When your time comes you'll be thankful for the delirium as it dulls the pain and anguish of meeting your end.

What the hell Subs...I'm really struggling to place those lyrics to any song I've ever heard. Is that Green Day?

Healthcare Workers having received a 1,600mg total dose of HCQ are 80% less likely to acquire SARS-CoV-2 than their untreated peers.

I've been told my brain isn't a vital organ. So I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

Show me an actual clinical trial paper and I'll believe you.

What you have here is anecdote.

Every goddamned day some stupid motherfarker tells me that COVID doesn't exist or that it is being grossly exaggerated by liberals paying hospitals to classify every death as COVID.

When I suggest that more than a handful of other nations have death rates twice ours and none of them are complaining about it being fake or not existing, they start mumbling.

When I said that my family has lost several family friends to the disease, I got "Well, they TOLD you it was covid..."

BafflerMeal: ICU psychosis is nothing new.

Precisely. When I worked for many years with intubated and sedated patients the vast majority had delirium, during and after intubation. Worse were the elderly who may had cognitive impairment to begin with. This is why you will see patients arms restrained with soft restraints. So the won't suddenly pull their ETT, central line or *shutter* their catheter out, ballon fully inflated.
Usually the delirium diminishes after frequent reorientation reminders.

I thought it was Vogue by Madonna (Don't just stand there, let's get to it.  Strike a pose, there's nothing to it.)

When doctors suspect a stroke, they usually order a brain MRI - a sophisticated type of scan. But many patients hospitalized with Covid-19 are too sick or unstable to be wheeled across the hospital to a scanner, said Dr. Kevin Sheth, a professor of neurology and neurosurgery at the Yale School of Medicine.

Transcranial Doppler ultrasound can be done at the bedside. It may not be as sensitive as MRI, but it can be used for initial assessment and monitoring flow and velocities. It's not without drawbacks (finding the transtemporal window can be difficult, and it is very operator-dependent), but it is relatively safe and quick (exam takes 10-20 minutes generally).

If I had an inventor's brain, I'd develop single-use sonogel packets like ketchup packets. You're welcome, whoever now develops that.

I was trying to get it to match Gangsta's Paradise and was worried for Weird Al.

Had it, survived, was hospitalized.

Two months since I was discharged, I'm still randomly smell burning plastic. Acrid, nasty burning plastic, and there's nothing there. Zero.

My toes, all of them, tingle as if I was diabetic or worse. Full physical, three blood tests = I'm fine. Virus is dead, and my blood tests came back clear.

This disease is brutally awful. When I see people flaunting their ignornace, I genuinely cringe.

Protect your lungs and well, protect your everything. COVID plays your body and organs like a goddamned pinball machine.

That's one thing a lot of people don't get.  This virus through the generalized ACE-2 receptor is capable of infecting almost every accessible tissue of your body once it gets inside.  Lungs, heart, brain, liver, arterial epithelium.

/glad you recovered

Thank you. It was with the utmost shock upon discovering my urine was the color of unsweetened, dark tea, that it was because and I quote, "Oh. That's because COVID is going after your liver and kidneys."

Knock on wood, we're OK, now.

Really didn't appreciate it last week when my PCP said, "Hey! Your lungs are clear! It's a miracle!" To which I cheered.

To which my PCP then followed up with, "Yeah, considering you almost died."

(Second nurse pops in) "Hey! It's great to see you! I wanted to stop in and say hello and see how you're doing. I was the one who took your first chest x-ray in March. You were really sick."

Me: "Wow! Well, cool! Thanks for stopping in!"

Nurse: "Yeah considering you almost died, I'd say this is a miracle."

PCP: (Nods)

Me: "I'm...uh. I'm beginning to get that impression."

It *has* fcsked me up six ways to sunday psychologically. So, I might be uh, trying to find counceling.

Who else thought this was going to be about Paris Themmen coming down with COVID-19?
