8 races in 10 weeks. The smaller teams are going to be very hard pressed to have spares available if/when they end up totally destroying a car or two.

I get the feeling we're going to see some "save the parts, we're further back than Kubica in 2019" DNFs.

I agree with that. If a car gets lapped on track, it will probably get parked with "mechanical problems."

Bets on how many teams left for the 2022 season?

/going with 8
//depending on Saudi/Russian pocketbooks

As much as I love F1 this is the biggest reason it's hard to support the sport.

What, the blood money or the eras of monotonous dominance by one team?

The win by by writing the biggest check race. The drivers are awful, the teams are massive, and the parts are expensive.

A Colin Chapman and Graham Hill team would never win in today's F1 because they wouldn't be able to afford it.

One of the reasons I quit watching. Though I'm so starved for motorsports at this point I'll gladly tune in.

I only started watching F1 a few years ago when Haas entered a team.

How does Grosjean have a seat?

The alternatives cost more, are controlled by Ferrari, Red Bull, or Mercedes, or they suck more. Grosjean was better than K-Mag in outright 1 lap pace in qualifying 2016-2018. 2019 he wasn't. K-Mag is the more dependable race-driver for points.

I doubt Grosjean's contract will be extended beyond this year. He might be kept on as a test driver though.
