So how is he going to determine if it is a protestor or radical right-winger (i.e., a supporter of his) *posing* as a looter?

I'm sure he'd be able to recognize someone he hired.

I would think a shotgun would be better defense of a business during a riot.

Plus there's no basket for the head. What, are we going to let the head bounce around like savages?

You see? This is what good woodworking is all about. A man who knows woodworking for the freakin' win! It was also an opportunity for laminated arches, concealed joints and/or hinges. I would have gone for the laminated arches. Build a pattern, cut some sort of wood (I would pick red Oak, for historical significance) thinly, then laminate it together with glue into a nice load-bearing arch between the legs for added strength. Sand it finely, and use a nice matte finish. Red Oak has a gorgeous luster that really is seldom appreciated.

Also, great dimensional stability.

Oh, how I would would love to be executed on something like that.

You see, it's all about craftsmanship.

Exactly. I have to say Fark, I am impressed. In the space of two comments, you guys were able to identify the problems with what we were presented.

Well done!

I mean - I know most of you think all of Florida is farky - but as a native Floridian  Lake County has always been one of those counties that is  extra farky.

There's something to be said for executing the pompous on a shoddily-constructed guillotine, however.

They deserve so much better. Like you deserve to see blood flowing down planned routes to collection bottles

I grew up about five minutes over the county line in Orange County, and worked at a business in Umatilla for two years before I moved to NYC in 2015. A coworker who was about fifteen years older than me once spoke approvingly of Willis McCall's tenure as sheriff. We were a couple of miles from where McCall murdered Shepherd and tried to murder Irvin.

McCall went on to be re-elected into the 70s. He finally lost re-election when he was too busy defending himself on a murder charge of another black man in his custody to properly campaign. He was acquitted of those charges, and in 1985 the County renamed a road after him. A road that ran through a historically black neighborhood on the south side of Umatilla. The residents had to petition the County to finally remove the road name in 2007.

I think it was only just this year they put up a monument to those men outside the county courthouse (my parents just recently went and took pictures of it). But meanwhile, there's a group in Lake County trying to get the statue of the confederate general that's being removed from the US Capital Building to be put up in Tavares. A general who had no connection to any of the present day county territory. Because racism.

We have a Lake County here in California.  It's full of "State of Jefferson" dumbf*cks - e.g. toothless, meth heads, drunks, junkies, white racists.  Is there something about a region called Lake County that guarantees that sort of people move there?

How about we stop treating looting like a capital offense punishable by immediate execution.

If someone tries to loot your store, cal the police. Do not take the law into your own hands.

Jeez, I'm really glad that they embedded the tweet in question into TFA twice, plus typed it out in the body of TFA itself, really stretched out the article there...

As for TFA itself, the guy is a douche, but I'd like a show of hands to see who didn't already know that Republican+Florida pretty much equals "douche" without question.

How about we stop treating destruction of property and looting like some kind of humanitarian badge of honor, also?
