This would be an awesome "Mission Accomplished." Pretty sure that a Bush endorsement of Biden would be like a bunker buster set off inside the Trump cave complex.

I think he will absolutely vote for biden, but I don't see him endorsing Biden unless it looks like he is losing.

Why take the risk? The GOP establishment would ostracize his whole family for a move like that... So, if he does it, it would be a last ditch thing.

Just my thought.

No... never forget... But I have grown less angry. Still hate the mother*cker and all his minions... but if he can help us out here if things start to go sideways... I'll take his help.

Fark that, no he's not. This is not the time for eloquence, this is the time for action bringing about positive change. Dubya would cheer on the cops, as he did for his entire administration.

I swear liberals have lost their goddamn minds and somehow think that W was a good president and human being now. It's unbelievable.

Trump has a 92% approval rating among Republicans.

This is like when Mitt Romney spoke against him in 2016. It only fires up his base. This would only strengthen Trump's core argument.

How about instead of praising pretend leaders we start demanding good ones? Fark, I don't know. But if Democrats want to be the party of W-style Republicanism, well, actually that is exactly what they are now anyway.

There are more people whose politics make no sense and are drawn to Trump because of his personality than there are so-called moderate Republicans. These are the people who would see a Bush endorsement of Biden as a reason to vote for Trump. They would see it as the establishment supporting itself.

And, to be fair, in a way, they'd be right. Politically, Bush endorsing Biden makes no sense. If it were to happen, the message would be that politics don't matter; the only thing that matters is maintaining establishment order.

Bush endorsing Biden plays perfectly into Trump's hands.

I can't think of anyone who would be moved by this. The NeverTrumpers already provide a path for moderates to leave Trump and they haven't made a dent in Trump's support. The moderate voter who reluctantly voted Trump in 2016 but can be lured to vote Biden in 2020 seems like a figment of the imagination of a small group of political op-ed writers.

He was a lousy president, but a big part of that was he listened to bad advice and surrounded himself with a bunch of his dad's crony neo-con warhawks who ignored him and had their own agenda.  And then the worst possible thing happened with that bunch effectively in charge.

Dubyah is a Republican and while he might side with Democrats on some issues he is not going to endorse Biden for president. Either plan more time to work on your papers, or share what you're smoking with the rest of the class.

I still don't understand how the Republican party managed to find someone that makes Dubya look like a competent, intelligent, thoughtful statesman.  Seriously, this blows my mind.  How does anyone look at the gilded turd that is literally Trump's entire life and say, "Yeah, that's who I want in charge"?

And what really worries me is that the next Republican president will be so terrible that they actually manage to similarly make Trump look better by comparison.  I don't even know how they would pull that off.

A Bush endorsement of BIden is a net positive for Trump.

It's a Gallup poll. It's right here: https://news.gallup.com/poll/203198/presidential-approval-ratings-donald-trump.aspx Search for "Donald Trump Job Approval by Party Identification".

Why would Dubya get his boots dirty kicking a POS like Trump? It's not like he, his kids or grandkids have to deal with the common rabble marching, protesting and rioting in the streets. This is a simple case of "not my monkey, not my circus". At most I would expect him to call for unity, perhaps even standing with other living former presidents to deliver unified message, but I don't expect any of them to openly criticize a sitting POTUS.

Liberals who can cope with subtlety, nuance, and ambiguity may consider former president Dubya "better than President Trump" and still fall far short of "good".

Headlines that ask questions usually are "no" answers. So yeah, the Bush family probably hates Trump but they will never be able to run as a republican again. This is trumps party now.
