Wheels turning in my head...hmm, I can make fake eggs to sell at a roadside stand! It will only take hours of work and a variety of ingredients...I could make a dozen for $10 or so-they'll never know!

/or just buy a dozen real eggs for a couple of dollars

Reminds me of the time I got a dozen gag eggs at Archie McPhee, when my roommate tried to make an omelet they exploded into a chalky cloud!  Oh, how I larfed!

That is until she pulled out the boxing nun puppets and beat me senseless.  Lesson learned: Never get into a war of novelties with a prop comic.

- who fakes eggs?
- what the hell is in them then that is cheaper than eggs?
- Remember someone in China was selling fried cardboard for years and nobody suspected anything was wrong and people still wanted to buy the fried cardboard?

You fool, you fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

The pictures near the bottom just look like eggs with lighter color yolks, and one omelette that wasn't quite as successful as the other.

Seems like it was just different chickens.

How well do they go with plastic rice?

i think the obvious solution would be to find the fake chickens these fake eggs are coming from, and make fake fried chicken.

Different chickens and different diet. The ones on the left look like mass farmed store bought eggs here and the ones one the right look like free range farm eggs here.

The mass produced ones are bland and have a lousy texture compared with free range.

Apparently, you can really mess up the taste of an egg by feeding chickens onions, garlic and such.  I am not a chicken farmer.

The best part is that when you enjoy a jelly egg on plastic rice, you can wash it down with melamine milk.

I wish I could raise chickens where I live, but they wrote the ordinance to pretty much make it impossible in the city.

Well not as pretty as the Japanese mass market version, that was rather neat. In sound want to try that, keep it simple at first. Then try new and weird shapes.

I've done so, for soup - used a slightly different technique, but, yeah, it works great and it makes for creepy leftovers.

Newsflash: not just Japan, those things are used in pretty much every other diner, lunchroom, and restaurant, since that is what people expect a slice of egg or two on their salad to look like.

/Get some yolk in every slice.

Literally every restaurant I've worked at uses an egg slicer on hard boiled eggs. Gordons does not even have these in the catalog to my knowledge.

I've seen them all over western Europe.

/They are made of 100% egg anyway, just boiled in a form.
