This has been going on, both ways since the start of the cold war.  My dad flew intercepts on TU-95 bears in the 50's.

LOL it's like we are the only two to have read the article.  And I find it fantastic that we are training and doing practices with Ukraine.  Forty years ago they would have been reluctant Warsaw Pact enemies.

It's funny how poltab blathers about Trump sucking up to Putin, but has anyone else flown nuclear bomber exercises with a former-Russian colony fighting an active border war with them?

That's Milton Berle-levels of dick-measuring.

B-1s are not nuclear-capable in the same way that Israel, Taiwan, and Japan are not nuclear-capable.

\they are about 15 minutes away from being nuclear capable.

The fantastic part is Ukraine.  Poland and Romania would have naturally been a part of NATO stuff if they could, considering that they were French allies for the longest time.  Ukraine has always been assumed to be a permanent client state of whoever is running Russia at any given moment.

Well, it's worth asking how much Trump even had to do with this, and how much is just the military's managing its own affairs and relationships. I genuinely don't know on this one. At the very least, it can be said that Trump didn't order an already-planned exercise not to take place.

It's the fastest tractor out there.  Plows an entire field in half an hour, although fuel consumption is pretty bad and the turn radius sucks.

I flew in a B-17 Aluminum Overcast. At one point in her post war career they made it a crop duster. I would have loved to have seen that.

We had a pair stop at Elmendorf on their way to the lower 48 back when peace broke out.  We went down and were able to check them out for a few minutes.  Linguist friend I worked with got to play translator for a couple hours that day. It was a sharp piece of equipment.

MIG-29s also stopped by at a different time.

These aren't even close according to Fark pilot wizards. We are informed that all military jets routinely fly within a wingspan. No big deal. Even ruskies do it without prior arrangement. It's nothing to piss and moan about.

There can't be too many countries still flying those things, even if they were over-engineered as much as they seem to have been. To still be flying in actual combat service they had to have upgraded the power plant and the avionics to at least 1990's-era technology.
