It wasn't him and his dad settling out of court for not letting black people rent their apartments back in the day? It was a while ago but a cheeto doesn't change his spots.

Inroads, lol. Yeah, that never happened.

It was interesting to watch the documentary on Jared Kushner's slumlord properties. Like watching the pro-Trump Maryland renters get upset about Jared Kushner f*cking them over for rent money.

Yeah, no.

Trump had 3% support, the margin of error, with black voters.  What inroads was he going to make on that 0-3%?

It's easier and more effective to write them off and just do everything possible to keep blacks and minorities in general from voting.

And all he had to do was treat black people, like people!

Yeah, that was never gonna happen.

Nobody gave a fark about that gaffe and the few who pretended to will be lost to the void.

Remember how he assassinated an Iranian general?

See, life comes at you fast. And if you obsess over this one dumb thing Biden said, you're a farking moron.

There are some Farkers who were insistent that more black people are because Trumpers and that he would get 15% of the black vote.

I wonder if they still think that now?

Really, subby? Do you think there were a lot of black voters saying to themselves "Hmmmm, Joe Biden said something dumb, so I should probably  become a white supremacist."

2020-05-29 11:39:08 AM
So "gaffes" aside, I believe Biden cares, at least in a general sense, about black people. Like, racism is a thing and is bad. I don't expect him to actually like, do anything about it, because racism can't be just handled by one guy.

Trump? That would require empathy and thinking about others.

They just want black voters to stay at home.

As stupid as Biden's gaffe was, trump again proves that no gift shall go unfumbled. His whole administration has been a proudly tone deaf enterprise where the focus is always on the grift, and the rest of us be damned.

Inroads are just more infrastructure they aren't interested in actually building.

2020-05-29 11:44:27 AM
My final word on Biden's "You ain't black" gaffe...

In context, what he was saying was, "You are planning on voting against the interests of the black community.  No black person would do that."  Or, perhaps another way to say it, "If you are really a black person, why do you plan to vote against the interests of the black community?"

I know that is a stretch to paraphrase it that way.  Especially since he did not at all word it that way.  The way he worded it was probably the worst way imaginable that he could have said that.

But in the end, what he said was not hateful or malicious.  He was in fact, speaking in support of the black community, and chastising the person (the black person) that was planning on voting against their interests.  It was a comment directed at an individual.  Not the entire race.

2020-05-29 11:44:30 AM
The only people I saw complaining about Biden's "gaffe" were white people.

shastacola: Inroads, lol. Yeah, that never happened.

Yeah, it's just another fictional "horserace" story we'll be seeing until November.

2020-05-29 11:45:14 AM
What Biden said was pretty tone deaf(har), but I don't think it allowed for any "in-roads" to Trump. Pure fantasy.

No, it hadn't.  But Trump was still stupid to remind black folks how much he genuinely hates them.

Easy to say you're opposed to shooting looters when they're not breaking into your house. The "silent majority" won't be fazed by this one bit.

It was stupid of him to guarantee it would be a woman.

It should be Bernie.  The 2nd largest vote recipient in the primary.  If he refuses, then Warren.  If she refuses, then Buttigieg....so on and so forth.

"You ain't black if you don't vote for me! " is pretty farking cringy, but somehow when put up against "you're barely human even if you do vote for me, and less than if you don't" it just don't seem as edgy. State of politics these days an all I suppose.

Are...are the looters breaking into their houses?  That seems pretty newsworthy.  Like, if Jimbob Cornpone's TV was being carried out the door, you think we'd know about it.
