No, no, you're supposed to pray to God to fix things. Because God is a genie that grants wishes and you just need to convince him this is bad and he'll totally fix it.

Speaking out loudly makes your movement seem large and important.

The Magats figured this out, of course the government never tells them they are protesting wrong.

I guess Trump has been doing a lot of not fixing things.

"John James is willing to have these tough conversations with voters," Gail Gitcho, a campaign spokeswoman, told the outlet. "John James is his own man, and he will point out when he agrees with the president and respectfully point out when he disagrees with him."

Sure, bud.

But in the video obtained by Salon, James argued that publicly disagreeing with Trump would hurt his candidacy.

Surprise!

It's true that talking about things is not the same as doing said things.

That's why Trump's racist actions speak louder than his racist words.  And also why Trump's inaction on COVID-19 speaks louder than his boasting about COVID-19.

But let's not forget that results are even more important than action.

Which is why we should focus on how everyone other than sleazy corrupt scammers are worse off now than they were before Trump took office, and how our country is starting to resemble a failed state.

It's funny. This is like if I smack my wife around every day and then one day say, "you are ALWAYS saying I hit you", why do you keep bringing it up? There isn't a limit to the amount of times I can accuse someone of racism.

FTA:
But in the video obtained by Salon, James argued that publicly disagreeing with Trump would hurt his candidacy.
"Do you think that Esther could have saved her people by spitting in the king's face?" James asked, referring to the biblical queen who saves the Jewish people from a massacre planned by her husband, the Persian king. "No. She was able to do that, because she was in the king's chambers. Do you think that Moses was able to speak to the pharaoh multiple times? No, it's because he was raised in those and was able to get into those chambers. And all throughout, how things have worked has been the ability to access.

On one hand, I kind of get what he's trying to say:  if he gets elected and has a bigger voice within his party, he'll have a better chance to be a positive influence on Trump.  On the other hand, look at all the other, comparatively more reasonable people who have gotten close to Trump, tried to be "the adult in the room," and failed miserably--and they were all seasoned politicians, as opposed to a 38-year-old who's never been elected to anything yet.

As far as changing things from within goes, there were a lot more black Republicans in the mid-century (Ike won 39% of the black vote in '56, Nixon won 32% in '60), but that didn't stop the big shift during the "Draft Goldwater" movement leading up to '64.

In the words of a black Republican from that time period:

Discussing black Republican ideological fears, newly elected Political Action Chair Grant Reynolds argued that "an era of blackest despair would develop and doom the Party of Lincoln to oblivion . . . if castoff Democrats, repudiated Dixicrats, segregationists, racists and exponents of hate and bias" were permitted to gain permanent leadership roles within the party. "It is deplorable," he complained, "to even think that the racist elements now entering the Republican Party should even presume to believe they could be comfortable."

Erebus1954: But they are shiathole countries. We should pretend that isn't true?

Maybe you guys should talk to Republican candidate John James.

During a video conference with black community leaders last week, James was asked whether he disagreed with Trump on anything given the president's support of his candidacy.

"Plenty, plenty of issues," James responded. "Everything from cutting Great Lakes funding to 'shiathole countries' to speaking ill of the dead," apparently referring to Trump's disparagement of the late Sen. John McCain. "I mean, where do you want to start?"

that being said I watch a lot of international music videos
when wealth is displayed in African music videos
it rarely rises above the level of middle-class folks in Dallas Texas

but characterizing it as s*** hole is pretty nasty

All right, upper middle class folks in Dallas Texas

I guess it depends on how you define middle class

Schrodinger's shiathole:

A country is wonderful, enlightened, and a great place to live, until its residents plead for asylum in America, in which case it's a shiat hole, crime ravaged, oppressive regime that justifies asylum.

Seriously, if you're so delusional that you can't label shiathole countries as such, then you ain't living in the real world.  Some countries suck.  It doesn't mean the country inherently sucks, or will always suck.  Colombia used to be a no-go-zone for decades but it's doing great now.  Argentina used to be the wealthiest country in the world and now it sucks.  But if you disagree and think all countries are just grand, I'd love to sponsor a trip for you to Venezuala.

/got not problems with asylum for many people from venezuala
//truly is a bad country

Mongolia is a fine and wonderful country.  It is developing at a slow but steady pace and doesn't have many of the problems associated with a developing country.  If you want to go backpacking or solo travelling, you'll have a blast and won't have to worry about yourself.
