Republican horrified to discover that his wife gets a vote, too.

were they really all this stupid before the overgrown oompa loompa started squatting in the whitehouse or is this some new orange-nosing viral thing?

bloobeary: Republican horrified to discover that his wife gets a vote, too.

He's really pissed that they sent one for the girl scout chained up in his basement.  SHE'S NOT EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO VOTE!

I think this all goes back to Dan Quayle, but they've been getting stupider.

This level of stupid ought to be fatal.

Has anyone pointed out that Mr. Loudermilk might not be the sharpest tool in the shed?

Yes. Yes they were. Now they're proudly stupid.

Why are these people so deliberately stupid

I'm sitting here trying to decide if the "staff member" is stupid or just wanted to see if Loudermilk had any brain cells at all.

A people hire A people. B people hire C people.

Where A, B, C, are levels of competence.

F people hire Z people.

This also explains Trump's hiring practices.

Jackal_N: Has anyone pointed out that Mr. Loudermilk might not be the sharpest tool in the shed?

I think we know by his family name. Loudermilk was given to his family of dumb-dumbs because they couldnt drink milk like normal people, without making a noise.

The whole family is dumber than a hammer.

For some elected officials, especially those that are captive to a major donor or sponsor, that's a feature and not a bug.

This guy is louder than milk? And ge's proud of that fact?

Is he really that stupid? Is he just talking to constituents who he presumes are that stupid? Does it matter?

Barry Loudermilk sounds like a name someone would make for a gay pornstar that specializes in bukkake.

I assume the staffer that brought it to his attention did not agree that all three ballots should have been sent to their address? Need more info.

Institutionalized racism and anti-intellectualism, also known as "being a conservative in America."

Apparently subby and almost everyone in this thread hasn't read the tweet. A staffer of his brought it to his attention because they didn't recognise the names.

Most  likely former tenants/occupiers. The couple who lived in my house before me had huge credit card issues and I was still getting mail in their name years later.

3 residents at what I assume is a giant house?? I bet they even have a refrigerator

"Hey guys, any of you got roommates?"

"Yeah, literally all of us, you pay us minimum wage."

"Great. Do me a favour and bring in the ballots mailed to your place. Whoever has the most gets Friday off."

2020-05-29 2:52:16 AM
Probably the staffer just moved into a rental which multiple occupants were recently living in. farking morons thinking this is anything of any significance.

2020-05-29 2:53:48 AM
Also showing a ballot sent to someone else to your boss and letting someone  photograph it HAS to be a crime somehow.

Also why is one of those taking in the bathroom? creepy.

Likely. Also likely they are documents attempting to confirm present residential address. What election is going on right now that they'd get a ballot. I just got one (residency and wanting to continue with mail in ballot form) in AZ.

And if these unknown people cast their ballot somewhere else both ballots will be invalidated.

2020-05-29 3:02:24 AM
So what you are sayin is that Republican activists are going to fraudulently cast ballots from people who used to live at their residences.

Good to know ahead of this election season.

2020-05-29 3:03:42 AM
The solution here is not to get rid of mail in voting. You hire some more people to monitor, maybe clean up the registration. I'm a mailman delivering ballot applications this week. I think I had around 5 bad applications out of around 1200 homes, so guessing around 2,000 applications in the last two days. It's not likely a mail carrier is going to deliver 5,000 ballots to one house, and not mention it to a supervisor.

Come on, man.  There's no reason drag affluence into this.
/One of them might kill a few people, get away with it, and run off to Mexico with their mother.

This is proof that republicans have long since sold off any socially viable children they had to laboratory research experiments.

The tweet does not say that, actually, so you might want to read it yourself. You're probably correct though that the Congressman meant to say that ballots were delivered for people who did not live there, likely because they hadn't updated their voter registration.

Sending ballots to the wrong address isn't "fraud," though. Fraud would be if his staffer took all three ballots, filled them out, and sent them in. But they would probably be caught doing that when they signed all three with the same handwriting, or when one of those people didn't receive their ballot, requested one to their new address, and sent it in.

Kittypie070: probably the world's stupidest Cylon

And the most obvious.

"I think Barry's a Cylon."
"No, Barry? No."
"Why not?"
"Because it's too obvious. I mean, come on."
"Yeah, he is fairly robotic."
"He couldn't be more robotic if he had "I AM A CYLON" tattooed on his forehead."
"Okay, fine, you're right, there's no way it's Barry, that's just ridiculous."

I'm guessing this congressman is the asshole in your dorm at college who had a triple room to himself by some combination of luck and making his roommates' lives so miserable that they moved out. Also, he thought he was popular and he wasn't.

Leaving aside pkjun's idea that this was just a gimmick for member's of his staff to get time off, and also leaving aside the fact that the accompanying picture only shows two envelopes, there are a lot of people in this thread who are more than ready to leap to the conclusion that a serving congressman is either so stupid or so out of touch that he doesn't know that multiple people with different surnames can live at the same address.

Without further info, Occam's razor infers he meant it the way I said he meant it. Just like when Obama said there were 57 states, Occam's razor says that him being tired and misspeaking was more likely than a former editor of the Harvard Law Review not knowing how many states there are.

On the subject though, wouldn't this routinely happen with other documents sent through the post? Driver's License renewals? Utility bills?
