I'd love to hear your definition of "hipster".

Sad. Can't afford the kid when the data mining and ad revenues dry up.

Neither is "rehome'.

"Dumped him on someone else after getting rich off him" is a better way to put it.

What an odd comparison. Drew built a comments-based news-aggregator that became an internet destination. I don't think anyone really gives a fark about his opinions on wine pairings or vacation destinations. Though I am a bit curious what  he thinks about Target's new cookware line...

These so-called influencers are talking about a child like it's a puppy they were to lazy to train.

He likes a nice box red. Pairs well with UFIA.

Without the PR stunt, I'd think, "Well, they figured out that the kid has a better chance with someone that's able to care for him, and though it tears their hearts out they know it's best for him."  Without the PR stunt.

I also heard (think it was in the podcast) that he shot a man in Reno, because he wouldn't pay for his beer, or something?

She has four kids of her own and made a big deal out of adopting a special needs child from a completely different country and culture. What did she think would happen, exactly?

Horrible.

2020-05-28 11:42:37 AM
The Daily Fail left out how she got rich off him.
Better article about it:
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/stephaniemcneal/myka-stauffer-huxley-announcement

In some videos, Myka plugged a fundraiser she had organized for Huxley's unspecified needs. She said every person who donated $5 would unlock a different piece of a 1,000-piece puzzle, which would, at the end, be a photo of Huxley that she would reveal to the world. She also said she would write the names of all donors in his baby book.

In a sponsored video from 2017, Myka said she was using her proceeds from YouTube ads towards her adoption, writing in the caption that the sponsorship "profits are going towards bringing our SON home from China!"

In an article she wrote for Parade, Myka said the Stauffers were told by the agency Huxley had a "brain tumor" and "brain damage." She wrote that at first the couple weren't open to a special needs adoption.
"But as we let the idea soak in, God softened our hearts," she wrote. "Before we knew it, we were open to almost every special needs in the book."

I guess he hardened them again?

Terrible business people. Imagine the revenue they could have generated with an even more disabled child?

To be fair, yes these people are self absorbed scumbags, but Chinese orphanages, going all the way back to when i did adoptions in the late 90's  have a VERY bad habit hiding SEVERE mental and physical disabilities of their children and then sending them to the States to be adopted.  Adoption is forever and kids are not puppies, so due diligence on your part is required before you agree to take a child, but China especially sometimes does not make that easy

I rescued a dog from the pound, and he was my constant companion for the next 16 years... But i still recall that very first day, the pound people basicaly challenged me to say to the effect of, "you sure you want this, because we are sure we don't want to take him back from you at a later date".    I respected the question, and the notion.  You take on something like this, you are voluntarily surrending your time, money, and independence for the remainder of this being's life.

So, while, i'd want to give this IG influencer the benefit of the doubt that this all wasn't just a publicity stunt, and her heart was in the right place, she still is a massive failure who caused more turmoil in this child's life than had she not gotten involved at all.

Well, I can't provide any proof that he isn't Vermin Supreme. I personally remain agnostic towards the whole Drew=VS cosmological theory of Internet celebrity riffraff.

For a while, I thought it was a joke, that there was another guy with the same name that was running for office and that Fark's Drew was just playing off of it. I was kind of surprised when I found out it was actually him that was running.

Walker: naming him Huxley (a crime in itself)

"Only an Epsilon can be expected to make Epsilon sacrifices, for the good reason that for him they aren't sacrifices; they're the line of least resistance. His conditioning has laid down rails along which he's got to run. He can't help himself; he's foredoomed."

I have an autistic kid. She's got epilepsy too. Wouldn't trade her for any other kid anywhere. She's difficult and she rage breaks things, but she is the sweetest child I have ever encountered. This biatch is a monster and she should go to prison. Upending an autistic kids life is already traumatic, but to do it because it's hard and you just don't want to anymore? fark.you. i hope this follows you to your grave. You're a sick farking person.

Folks who hate on 'influencers' seemingly fail to recognize how prevalent they are in each of our lives, even prior to Instagram, YouTube, etc.

Or maybe they don't fail to recognize it, they see it very, very clearly and have for a long time, and now they're simply fed up because there isn't a corner of the world they haven't been able to crawl into and taint.
